I'm looking at booking the Moon Palace in May 2013 and have been searching through this thread. I see that there are photographers who are not allowed at the resort? Does anyone know who those are? With my luck, it'll be the ones whose work I love the most.

I have a few questions for you ladies:

I will be getting unlimited events, but it says up to three hours a day. So after my wedding I am just going to have a reception from 630-9:30 I will try to "tip" the bartender to stay longer? Id rather have the reception for 3 hours. Does this make sense, or would any of you do something different.

 

I am torn between bringing a portable BOSE docking station or paying PSAV? (I am having an AHR with a DJ and a photographer)

 

Also, one of my friends suggested forgoing the welcome dinner reservation (which I wanted at Los Caporales) and having a private function instead??

Honestly, I don't know where to have these things? Ive never been to Moon Palace?

 

Any thoughts/ideas welcome!! SLASH someone want to plan MY wedding in addition to your own  I'm having planners block. Between MP and my AHR I cant make any more decisions!!!!

okay first of all make sure with your WC that on your wedding day you can't have a cocktail hour and a 3 hour reception- they might make an exception. there is no "tipping" to make them stay because the WC is there the whole time and she will have to extend it. If they won't than another option is to have the cocktail hour and than have a 2 hour reception extending it an extra hour costs $60 a table which depending on how many tables you have might not be that big a deal and than you get everything you want. I was thinking about not doing a cocktail hour and was glad my mother talked me into it because it gives your guests something to do while you are taking pictures. if you aren't taking pictures after the ceremony than I really don't think you need it. 

 

What location are u having the reception and how many people. PSAV was great and they have like a little DJ set up. It is worth it if you can do it. Just for one location and there most simple 1 speaker package which is good for up to 45 people i think it was $235 for 4 hours. That really isn't bad. as far as the functions they are great but the food sux lol. so look through the buffet menus. if you see food your group will like than have functions because it's private and you can do it in so many places. But i like the restaraunts food better especially the good ones. i didn't go to corporales so I can't say anything about that. but i don't think corporales can make a large party reservation- check on that

I told Joannis I wanted the Tucan Gazebo for the ceremony and Tucan Terrace for the reception. I will definately ask about that extra hour. How late did your reception go? My ceremony is at 6. I am not having pictures after the ceremony (well whatever they do with Package A...plus 15 minutes they are giving me because I tried to the negotiate price

 

I have 28 people including Tim and I. That should be it. So if its 8p/per table its 3.5 tables lol. Did you get 10 people per table?

 

Thanks for the info on the restaurants!! Which other areas would be good for functions? Our room block is sunrise.

 

I thought PSAV for 4 hours was $404? I will email them now. $234 is worth it.

Hi There,

 

My invites just had the week of the wedding trip on them (no even the wedding day) and a URL to my wedding website where I update all the details for people. I plan to send out an info package about 2 months before for people that has an agenda of events included in it with time and location of the wedding. I also plan to have a welcome gathering the day I get there so everyone can come together and meet and I will then tell everyone the time and location of the ceremony and reception.
