Ha ha ha ha I hear that.

This is too much work. If I had not put a deposit down I may have just ran off to Vegas.  It is 10 am and I need a glass of wine but that may be frowned upon at work.  shots.gif

I hope that works for you! I think it's all a matter of your sneakiness- if you don't tell them and just put them on your guest list, they can't really do anything about it! I am flying a photographer from St. Louis and she is staying 3 days with her assistant so she is definetly a guest of the resort, so I don't have to worry about that! :)

If you have over 35 you should have 60 or 75 room nights and should qualify for a free reception! :)

Just wondering what they are charging per person once you go over their stipulated limit.

Hi Airica26

From my understanding if you choose to use the dinner reservation for your reception you are only allowed 35.  If you have more than 35 people you will then have to purchase a private function which is (with the new packages) $50/pp for a table of 8 or $400 for a table of 8 for 2 hours. That includes food and open bar.  It's an additional $65/table/hour you want to extend.  Hope that helps!

I am hoping and assuming we will make the 75 room nights but it says the reception is for 35 people. I am wondering though if there is more than 35 people will they charge us like $50 a person for the extra 20-30 people that will be there or will they just charge us for extra table set up?

I was supposed to talk to the wedding planner yesterday but she cancelled on me and I am trying to do our budget. And yes, I am a planning freak-a-zoid who does things light years before they need to be done. : )

But if you qualify for a private function then it is included and you pay nothing?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
