I'd call MP directly and see if you can talk to someone in the wedding department!

Hey ladies...wow the hubs to be and I have been at it this weekend getting some major things crossed off our list! It feels awesome! With only 5 1/2 weeks to go before we leave I needed to get in gear! Question for you all that are getting close to your big days...are you all ordering your ground transfers in advance? Anyone know what the cab situation is like? We were trying to decide if we are going to book this in advance.

Thanks!

I have been following all of your posts and all of the DIY projects are amazing!!

You can book your shuttle transfers in advance...but its certainly not required by any means.

We travelled to Moon Palace in May 2011 for a site visit for our wedding in Aug 2012.  We had no transfer reservations.  After you go through customs, but before you leave the airport, there is an information desk who can give you transfer information for Palace Resorts.  You can go outside, and give them your name, they will bring you right to the resort, and will charge your room for the transfer.

Or, you can just catch a cab.  The ride to Moon Palace from the airport is very short.  5 miles maybe...10-12 mintues max.  Transportation to/from the airport is not a concern at all.

There are plenty of shuttles and cabs outside the Cancun Airport

Thank you MPWeddingPlan! I don't think the $23 per person roundtrip our TA is quoting is horrific or anything, but I think we could probably come out a little more reasonably hailing a cab. I think we may take that route. Did you all use the transfers when you visited? Great to see you are in Myrtle Beach, we live in Raleigh, NC but my family has a house in North Myrtle and spend most of the weekends in the summer down there!

Thanks again!

When are you all getting married by the way?

Thanks, Katie

It's going well!  Only 2 more days until we leave for Cancun!  Just packing away and resting up (I actually was violently ill the other day, which had me worried!).  I can't believe that in just 5 days, it will be THE day!!

Best wishes on finding those fancy stamps soon!  :)

Wow wow wow --- 150 of them!!  I'm just learning how to emboss (got Martha Stewart heat tool for Christmas!).  Again, kudos.  They're beautiful!

Your website is awesome.  All ready for your guests to check out!

We're getting married on Tucan Beach and then having our Cocktail Hour at Tucan Terrace.  Then, our reception is at El Caribeno restaurant. :)

We have booked our ground transfers in advance, and so are our guests.  If you book 7 nights + with Palace Resorts, your transfer is free, and we're staying 9 nights.  I think our guests are only paying $24 though.

2 days before we leave, and I'm wondering.....  What kind of cake are you all going to have??

I decided on vanilla with fondant.  But I have no idea what the difference is between fondant and chantilly!  I tried to look it up but couldn't really find anything helpful.  The other choices were chocolate, strawberry, fruit, lemon, or cheese.

Any advice on what to choose?  Anyone who's already been married at Palace resorts have any input?  THANK YOU!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
