Safe travels my friend!  The puppy boy was taught by his daddy (FI) to climb the down the steps today... YAY!  Progress.  Now if I can only settle myself on decor.

So, I am leaving for Palm Springs, CA tomorrow for the rest of the weekend.  So...I hope you all have a great weekend, filled with DIY projects, puppy love, wedding planning and of course wine or whatever your drink of choice is :)

Thank you for the responce, I have a photographer already. I was told I could when I booked but now am being told I can not use my dollars towards anything wedding related unless I get a $3,000 Colin Cowie wedding package. I am not happy that I will be expected to pay 1000 cash now for a few small options and two room nights for the photographer. I could barely afford this trip, we did 9 days to get 2000 resort credits which seems like a waste now. This is the exact opposite of what my friends experience getting married at Moon palace was.

Hi Gina Bina:

I believe as long as you book any Colin Cowie wedding package, except the Nautical and the Complimentary, you can use your full $1500 resort credits towards upgrades and such (has to be full amount). But I find it's ridiculous the prices they ask for that so instead I am getting the Complimentary wedding and bringing in most of the decor myself ( I added it up and lights, lanterns, centre pieces, etc - without fresh flowers - is WAY less than 1000 dollars, so I didn't waste my money on their wedding packages since they didn't even allow for alterations and the colou suck).

I asked Ivis how some people were able to pay $400 to bring in the photographer into the resort and how she had written that they have to be a guest in the resort instead, so she said she will look into it, since it may be a rule that has changed since a lot of stuff is changing this year. I will let you know.

My personal experience is that most of us have been told since the beginning, that you can use your Palace Resort points/vacation dollars towards wedding collection packages....however, you are NOT allowed to use the resort credits to pay for any options or add-ons.

Thank you for all the info!  We are May 17th 2012 :)  this is getting very stressful. I have been back and forth with Jaun Navaro but I'm not so sure on how to get him in. I talked to my cordinator and she said 3 nights. I think that is BS and he said he has been able to use a day pass or one nite stay.  What are you doing for this situation?  Also does anyone know anything about the in house photogs? Thanks again!!!

I found my photog on this site, there are tons of reviews on here of different vendors in general.  I found they are super responsive and quick.  They will give you quotes and you can go from there.  You can also ask us again once you have narrowed it down on who we are using, etc....

But if you want some names, here are just a few in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area:

Del Sol

La Luna

Octavio Montes

Gonzalo Nunez

Sascha Gluck

Ismael Pacheco

Ivan Luckie

All the above are great.  But they vary in price, so it depends on your budget...  :)

Good Luck and Happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
