WHOA~!!!  I was under the impression that we didn't have to pay for the events up front if we qualified for free event(s), but the room nights we do.....I had no idea!?!?

Ok ladies, I just finished speaking with Janina my Miami person. She said " that the way she does it, is that if you qualify for events you don't need to pay for it when you are there. However, you would need to pay for your decoration set-up & anything extra that you got." she further said that those working with a travel agent would need to check with them as most times they use a wholesaler & she doesn't know what their policies are. Hope this helps

I know the feeling. I am STILL trying to get them to book my date, but it seems they are so bad at keeping up that they don't even care to take my money first then deal with the wedding. Everything is so slow and laid back with them. But I did find that if you call the centre (they are never available) and leave a message, they reply semi-promptly.

We aren't sure how many we have either, but we will for sure be below 75  :)  That would stress me out!  HA!!!  Keep stalking and harassing the MP, that's what worked best for us!

Check with your coord if it isn't Janina as she put emphasis on "What she does"  my TA is out of the office today so I will check with her tomorrow.  It would be great not to have to factor in the extra cost.

Look at what my contact said to me today in regards to photography:

I am unable to provide you with our vendor information due to the limitation we have within our contracts. We have binding contracts with all of our preferred service providers which do not allow us to go outside the contracts to other vendors. Any information on pricing and services needed may be discuss with me.

If you have a specific provider they would have to be a paying guest with a minimum 3 nights at the resort in order for them to be allowed to provide the service for your wedding.  This is the only way any professional photographer, DJ etc. other than our vendor, would be allowed to photograph or perform any other services for your wedding.

Their photographer SUCKS! What should I do?  I know you girls are saying buy a night, which I can, but here, she is saying 3??

Palace,

It seems that you have a grade a stickler!  Is this your miami person or MP person saying these things?  Again, I wouldn't keep pushing the issue with her and just plan your wedding and be ready for your photog to stay the night.  I think Smile Market is their inhouse photog now (I'm not sure) but from what it looks like they have good reviews compared to whoever they used before but again I'm not sure.

She is just the girl from FL that I have been in slight contact with.  I get to actually speak to someone tomorrow at 1:30!  That is exciting, so hopefully we can actually get a WC to speak to!  I looked at smile market, which is their in house, and Im not impressed with their work at all.  They are not creative or artistic at all with the photos.  I could take just as nice of pictures as they can.  I guess im just really picky about my pics.  I will be 100% devistated if i have to use their in house photographer.

Thanks for the feedback.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
