Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Recommended Posts

OMG girls, I am so sad right now!  I may start crying!!!  My contact for the Palace Resorts said that as of 2012 NO OUTSIDE VENDORS are allowed!!  What am I going to do?  I am not impressed one bit with "smile photography" who is the vendor through the resort.  I had my heart set on Juan Navarro!  This seriously changes everything.  Photos are SO important to me and now they are saying we don't even have a choice, we have to use theirs?  OH MY!!!!  Have any of you heard different?? crybaby2.gif

Please don't cry!  If you have read post from 2010-2012 Palace Resorts have been saying this for ages.  However, we brides prevail!!!!1

First and Foremost they implemented an Outside Vendor fee (which is steep), nonetheless they made sure they will recoup some cost.

Second, many of us to avoid using "their in-house folks" reserved a room for our photogs (I did this along with a few other brides here.)

At some point we have to work around (although unfortunate) because the lack of consistency, information etc is still something to be desired with Palace Resorts.

OH NO, I am sooo sorry!!!  I have not heard of that "officially", but they did try to tell us that when we signed our contract, so what we are doing is buying a room for our photog for the night, and I had MP put in the our contract that we could have an outside photog if we bought the room.

However, they say this all the time to everyone.  I had to fight to get them to put it in my contract.  I am sure you can still get Juan, but you may have to get him a room for sure!

Hola Chicas!!

I pray that everyone had a blessed, safe and awesome holiday season.  Happy New Years and Weddings to All cheers.gif

No big projects (my DIY days have been long over and DIY with drawl finally gone.)  However; today I did send out the Reminder postcards that I created & posted a while back.  With the final payment being Feb 3rd I wanted to get these babies out early this week (today's mail ;-)  FI and I expect that some will not make their final payment which will result in their loss of deposit and room nights.  Right now we average 90 room nights and agreed that if somehow we go lower than 75 that we would extend our stay at MP versus going to LeBlanc (uggh), but if it will save cost then we both agree we will do it.

So, shortly after Feb 3rd I will know our final headcount and will begin to order our wedding/reception decorations and a few final things for our OOT bags.  So things for me are pretty relaxing wedding wise.  I will go sometime this month to have my first fitting (LOL) however; I'm afraid that my beer may have caused me to gain a few pounds (reluctant to way myself & smile as I drink a beer) stupid.gif

FI finally decided (after much back and forth) to order his suit from Studio Suits so I should be able to post in a few weeks.  Otherwise, our dog Cesar (pictured below) is 8 pounds now and gearing up to come home on the 21st...  Okay my fellow brides & dog owners could have warned me about the cost I would spend (given my Type A self) on toys, blankets etc...  but I'm loving it.

I think (last I checked) it was approximately $380 (for 2 people) as my photog has an assistant.  I recall it being about $192 pp for 1 room night (basic room)

According to our wedding group contract, the only bookings that qualify towards the group perks are with our travel agent or the resort directly with our group number.

Do we have to book all the guest rooms through the same travel agent (or the hotel itself) in order to be able to get the group perks?

My fiance and I decided yesterday that we are going to stay at the Moon Palace but we don't have dates yet. But yay!!

Thanks in advanced!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
