Recommended Posts

Just booked Moon Palace for August 3rd 2012! Super excited, didn't want to wait for 2013 summer so I hope 6 months notice is enough for our friends and family! I'll be on here looking for tips....Hoping to get a good photographer and interested in anyones knowledge of dancing at night at Moon palace that we can just go to after dinner?

Are you booking the one night through your TA? Is it cheaper? From what my WC stated yesterday I thought she was telling me its $388 for the night, not anything to do with a vendor fee..so confused! MY TA is working today so Ill give her a call to see what she says..Thanks for the help!

Kris10kay,

Room nights of 1 day does not count toward your group perks, only 3+nights do.  We booked our Photogs room directly with MP online.  a day pass is approximately $89 which will allow 1 guest to arrive onsite at 7am and leave by 11pm (guest staying at another resort.)  The vendor fee (photogs, djs for anyone that does not contract with moon) is $388 per person (so if your dj comes with two people the fee will apply twice (which sucks.)  One nite room stay is approximately $190 per person per night for double bed with one person in the room will be $354 (deluxe resort view).  so you save a few bucks but not much from the vendor fee.

Given, I have not had my wedding yet, but I was told that all I was going to have to pay for both my photographer and my dj to be an outside vender was a day pass for each person. I have it in writing via email with the miami wc in case it becomes an issue once I'm at the resort. Do you have anything like that?

One of the many inconsistencies of wedding planning regardless of Miami or MP. It totally depends on who your coordinator is!! Just like the ability for some to book their wedding locations while others cannot. Many 2011 brides encountered some back & forth regarding this & other things. For FI & I we didn't want to take a chance with our Photograph whose has an assistant.

Yes, this is what my WC  email me today when I question what the diffence was between day pass & buy a room for the night ;

"Please remember that as per your wedding contract you have will be able to have 20% from the total of the guests staying in our property for day passes, for example: if you have 20 guests then 20% from that is 4 day passes. you may purchase the day pass at the resort for your photographer, which will only give him access to the wedding events and no access around the property. If you purchase a stay for the photographer then he will be able to be on property taking pictures of you and your family during your stay".

So after reading that FI & I are going to book one night for them on line to avoid confusing.. Like Coco stated everyone is told something different it all depends on who your WC is.

Thank you! I will most likely just book them a night directly through MP..we had too many guests book through other sites so either way we don't qualify for private events :(

I have a question that I'm not sure is common knowledge or was already answered:

Do we have to book all the guest rooms through the same travel agent (or the hotel itself) in order to be able to get the group perks?

My fiance and I decided yesterday that we are going to stay at the Moon Palace but we don't have dates yet. But yay!!

Thanks in advanced!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
