Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Recommended Posts

HI Ladies,

I'm new to this blog, but I'm very excited to see someone decided to make this forum!  I'm going to be a 2012 bride at the Moon Palace as well.  We have our date, our rooms and our flights booked.  Now we're just playing the waiting game for our guests to book their trips.  Our wedding is in June and we're having a casual party back home after the wedding in July.

Right now, I'm just looking for information on what to expect for the wedding at the resort.  According to the contract, the on-site coordinator won't get in touch with us until 30 days before the wedding and I'm concerned about a few things.  We're getting married in one of the gazebos and I'm wondering about the lighting.  I don't want it to be dark under the gazebo since it provides so much shade.  I'm also beginning to think about details and things we can save money on by bringing with us like the bridesmaid and groomsmen flowers, centerpieces and any other things we want.  I'm sure they will be expensive to buy from the resort.  I'm looking forward to talking to you all about the wedding plans.

BTW, those boarding pass invitations are really nice and I like the luggage tags!  They look amazing!

I used 3 different types of paper:  Beach sand-looking paper (BPs) & teal cardstock from Hobby Lobby (BP jackets) & antique treasure map paper from Joann's!

Got some glitter sets from Martha & her glue pen.... added the teal glitter for the perforations on the front to give it some pizazz!

The brads are compasses (of course)! :)

The paper is beach sand.

This really makes you grateful for the beautiful people in your life and all of our lives especially during the holidays when we get so busy with the hustle and bustle and forget the spirit of it all. You are marrying an amazing man and you are getting amazing in laws and in the end everything is as it should be. So happy for you.

Anyways my fiance and I- we both make good money right now, were trying to figure out how we could make this work.  We were going to try to pay for them if his parents would maybe pay for some of the things when we got to MX (music for the reception, ect).  He went over to their house to talk to them and a little while later told me to come over too.  I guess when his dad found out that we were considering changing to a wedding back home he said "What does Natalie (me) want?  If she wants to get married in Mx we'll pay for them all to get there."

So now FI's parents, who were already paying for them, us, his brother and SIL, and his grandparents to come are paying for my parents and 3 of my 4 siblings.  As grateful as I am for them and as honored as I am that they love me so, I am just put in a hard position here.  My parents think we are the ones paying for them, but now his parents must think bad about my parents, and FI is a little upset my mom and dad didn't come to me sooner, which I understand.  My parents live on the other side of the country and now this is how FI is going to think of them- as poor people who can't support themselves instead of the hard working, loving, great parents they are who happen to run into bad luck.

But also- After all of that my FI and I sat and were talking and he said "what about your 12 and 16 year old sister and brother?  Are they getting no Christmas presents?"  He was so upset by this we decided to call my parents and tell them we will be their Santa this year.  I'm excited to go shopping smile159.gif  And am reminded of how much I love that man!!

Sorry this got really long.  Lots of tears last night but I'm happy to say I'm still a Moon Palace Bride!  And my mom, dad, and siblings will be there- and that's all that really matters!

Stay tuned lol

Welcome Nickey!

I still haven't heard from MP getting my locations reserved, so unfortunately, they are of no help really.  But I am sure someone on this thread can help you!  I know this whole site will help you with saving money and "DIY" projects!  Happy Planning!

Hi guys!  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

So my TA was able to work something out which is a better deal for our Denver guests and we still get the room nights at MP.  This will lower peoples trips by up to about $500, but they have to reserve today.  But, so far with those that have booked we are at 25 nights, which is great.  The rest of my family and FI's should book today too, which would bring us to 52 nights. woot.gifAnd that is just our family and the groomsman.  So, if we luck out and get a few of our friends to book we actually may be able to pull off 75 room nights, since so many are going to 7 nights.  If not, maybe at least 60!  I will take it!!!

Hope everyone is having a good Monday.

I narrowed down 6 breeders all who seem to be okay... you know I'm a bit Type A undecided.gif so I'm trying to narrow down the 6.  I will do that by Wed and then make some calls.  I have a pretty busy weekend so I would like to set things up for next weekend.  The lil man is so excited, and I am excited for him as he always wanted to be a big brother however, I didn't want and then it became to I could not have anymore children.  So when he asked for a dog, (and he is such a good kid), I couldn't resist!  I always wanted a dog too growing up and my mom wouldn't let me have one.  So I'm probably more excited than he is.

And BTW there was no and I mean NO update from FI.... so that means nothing happened.  I printed off page 3 of our programs and I will do page 1 tomorrow.  Page 2 (with everyones name) will be printed on Friday so she has until then.  There will be no reprints even if she gets it or my cousin decides to join.  I waited long enough and on Monday morning, my printer love will have passcode which will count what each department uses.. And I am not paying for printing!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
