Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Recommended Posts

Good news about not having to put anything down! We are planning a civil ceremony =) I have heard that alot of people get married at like City Hall or somewhere before they go on their actual Destination Wedding. Does this just make it easier in terms of paperwork when they come back to the states? Sorry if this is a dumb question! haha

Dz - I actually looked at using Teresa Stauring for our TA, and she seemed amazing, but we decided to just go directly through MP since my mom has a membership there.  Our guests will book on the website link they provided us.  (2 have already booked using this)   I'm also doing a complimentary wedding, and we didn't have to put anything down.  Are you doing a civil or symbolic ceremony?

From my personal experience that part is the most frustrating, trying to get ppl to check out the website. Even if people checked out our website half of them didn't pay attention to the page about how to book and just called me or called our TA. It sucks because we put all the effort into making a website which was to help the guests but they don't pay attention to the details!

Anyway we are sending out postcards with a reminder about checking the website for booking details and to RSVP but on the opposite side it's a STD for our AHR.  My sister makes everything for me, very lucky! ok I cant figure out how to attach the pictures if you want I can e-mail them to you!

It might be tacky but I post a lot of reminders on Facebook just saying "remember to check the website RSVP's are due soon". We initially put a RSVP date of November 1st because that was 3 months prior to our wedding date but now I'm just saying payments are due 30 days prior if someone asks.

I haven't had many people look at our website so far, even though we sent the invitations 3 weeks ago.  I know this because when people ask me about hotel info, l say, "Have you looked at our website?" And their answer is "Uhhhh...."  Haha.  This troubles me because bookings need to be paid in FULL by mid Dec in order to count towards our bookings, apparently!  Eeeeek!

So, the FI and I have decided to send out fun postcards to everyone as a "reminder" to check our site, while keeping it fun.  One side will have our old Cancun treasure map on it that we used as the background for our invitations, and the other side will be the postcard message.

I'm thinking that the message will say something like:

What treasure have you found on our website yet?

- Easy hotel booking

- New Packing List page!

- Test out your Spanish skills...

- All travel info you need

Then list the website and password.   I'm thinking though that it may not be enough incentive for them to look at the website NOW.  So I was thinking of adding an RSVP deadline on there - maybe November 20th or something??  What do you think would entice them to look at our website without being all "Look at our website NOW" LOL!!!

Our Guest DND signs (pictures of front and back), & our Re-Print of our 1st Aid Kits (last week the butterflies were flying off the page LOL;-)

My new printing project consisterd of our Welcome Booklet (will not show).  But what I did that I have never done before was to cut the paper first instead of after.  I only did 2 sheets and it came out perfect.  So now I will pre-cut all of our pages for the welcome book before printing.  Then I will come in early on a Friday to print this out.  Since our booklet is 8 pages, this will be the only thing that I print that morning.

My FI & I are planning to have a very small ceremony at home for his Grandma, who chose not to fly. I have read of several brides on this forum who have mention that they have gotten married at home prior to leave.

Personally I know of a couple who got married Oct of 2010 and it took them over 6 month to get things straight  with their marriage license.

So I would definitely discuss it with your FI and do research & ask question.

Yay CoCo!!!! I love your templates, hubby would have not gone for the butterflies, how did you get that in.  I love the colors, do you have a circle cutter for your DND signs, I recommend Friskars free hand, it's AWESOME!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
