Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Recommended Posts

Thanks! Yes I am and I am having the hardest time deciding what to do! I am leaning most towards MIB but I am having a hard time picturing them matching my theme of "simple elegance" (at least that's what my aim has been lol)..so still putting some ideas on paper before I start buying stuff but I definitely know I will be DIYing it! I went out of budget for my dress so I have to make up for it somewhere else :)

I don't wear anything on my head either! however I tried on a couple of veils and I am almost 100% sure I am doing a cathedral length...at first I thought it might look funny on the beach but one of my friends did it and she looked beautiful and the pictures turned out awesome with the wind blowing it.

I hardly own any heels since I wear tennis shoes to work everyday so after trying some Loubs on that I liked I was scared bc my feet are SO not used to high heels anymore! plus the FI isn't thrilled about the idea of spending 800 on shoes after the chunk of change we spent on the dress jiggy.gif

The bottom of it matched my belt so I was like oh okay.. so I'm hoping the whole ensemble will do it.  Otherwise I will be posting this baby to sell TeeHee.    Gotta love the Loubs... If I can tie up this loose wedding ends another pair will be my Christmas present to myself... If I find the pink ones that I want LOL...  love my shoes

I can't wait to meet all of my wedding sisters.. we are going to have a great week at MP ;-)

WOW 11O pp !!!!!!!

That's great,,,sophia56  you have been very busy with school ...but doing stuff for 110 pp is very over whelming....if you do want to do oot bags I suggest doing somthing befores you leave this way your guest get their goods, and you don't have to worry about traveling with everything....as far as the excitement when they get there you can do a small welcome kit with a letter, resort info, and a very nice wedding favor ....I planning to give out my oot bags before we go, I was worried about the wow factor when the guest arrived ..so I'm doing welcome kits ..with post cards, a map of the resorts, helpful spanish words, a note to say thanks for traveling toour wedding....I have some other ideas but I'm not sure about them...You will find a bunch of wonderful ideas on here good luck..just know we are here for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in my 4th year of grad school and have been trying to get my dissertation off the ground for the past few months, and really haven't devotd any time to wedding planning. I think I'm overwhelmed at the thought of these projects as well because right now we have 110 people with their deposits down and a few more "maybes" too (Indian weddings are ridiculous!). So I'm not sure if i want to even tackle OOT bags for that many people. FI and I talked about making 1 per family or couple and handing them out at guests' homes before we leave, just so we don't have to lug all that stuff down to Cancun. What do you ladies think? Would that take away from the surprise or excitement of them?

On a happier note, my parents and I just booked our flights to India for this december! I will be buying my outfits and other wedding ceremony necessities from there and haven't been since since I was 6 years old! I won't get to do much sight seeing because I"m only there for 2.5 weeks, but I'm super excited nonetheless!

I know I loved them too! I wasn't sure about cost but my future sis in law said you have to buy them ALL! and sure enough they quit carrying them at my store and I couldn't find them online either! she is a life saver :) for the tags I actually bought blank card stock "business cards" and printed Cancun, Mexico on them, then I bought this silver ink (Encore Ultimate Metallic) and stamped them all with my signature little iguana guy. My colors are silver, teal, ivory, and almost everything we've done has crystals involved :D

As for invites I think I am doing MIB but like I was telling YWS I am unsure if will be able to find stuff to match my theme. I was thinking maybe if I use white sand and silver shells? I don't know..still in the planning process! Whatever I choose I need to get a move on it quick..my time is running low! What are you doing for invites? (sorry if you already posted and I missed it!)

As for your ceremony it looks awesome! I agree with blocking off isle with the last two chairs. I like the splash of yellow it's like a little splash of sunshine right over your heads!

Hi!  I am sorry to interrupt...I know the thread has turned to decor, but I had a quick palace question since you all seem so knowledgeable!

I thought I saw this info earlier in the thread, but I have been through soooo many forums, I am lost!  Can you use the palace bucks to get your hair/make-up done at the salon?  I am staying at Beach Palace, I am assuming the same rules apply to all the resorts.

Thanks for the help!

Hello and Welcome early bird ;-) It's great that you were able to book this early as MP wouldn't even allow us to book until 1 year in advance.  So while, it may be too early for you to book etc.. I would concentrate (suggestion only) as to what you want your decor to look like, what DIY's if any you plan on doing etc.  There's so much out there and you have a lot of time.  But we all know that planning ahead will save you from a lot of stress and headache.

I recently became interested in having my wedding at the moon palace in 2013. We found this to be a great place to have our wedding and they had everything that we wanted. We got our WC who is Janina, but it is so early that we dont have to do any planning now. The only thing was the down payment and half the cost of the package is due in two weeks. I was just wondering if they requested you to send a fax of your card that you were using (front and back). This makes me uncomfortable to be honest...so i was hoping that someone could reassure me that this was requested from them. I am so excited to begin my planning and get this minor headache out of the way!

Thank you so much =)

Yes,

You can use a portion of your palace bucks for your hair and make-up.  When in doubt, I would highly suggest to refer to your Miami or MP coord as sometimes we are given all types of answers.

Awesome!  I am going to join his Do Jang after the wedding (when $$$ stop flying out the door) thinking of Jitisu but will look into what you are doing as well.  He has started off as a umm lil tiger or something when we moved to Alaska (job related) and then we picked up again after we got settled back in Philly.  I love it!  He is the type of child that will not start a fight, and will in most likely situations turn away.  But after he tells you a few times that you are bothering him all hell breaks loose.  TKD boosted his confidence so It doesn't take too many "you are bothering me" anymore but at the same time he knows when and how to use it!  It's the best.

TeeHee tell FI that Loubs are a girls best friend ;-)  FI knew from the start when visiting my home for the 1st time (in our dating stage) that I was show lover.  Then (before we purchased our first home)  I had shoes in my little shoe room but then also have them in my bedroom.  I had damn near everything except Loubs, & Manolo's (not a big fan) so he knew it was coming. His words were "you only got 1 pair" LOL  ahhh just wait until this wedding is over TeeHee

Oh, really - they ran out?!? Maybe I should start stockpiling up!! Michael's coupons, here I come, haha! I'm still sort of sorting out our colors; so right now, they are teal, silver, lime, dark blue, and white. The thing is that I also want more natural colors like dark brown and a light sand color... trying to figure it all out!   I adore crystals. They make everything look more expensive, hehe.

I actually posted a whole bunch of pics about my invites, which are MIB!  You can see them on page 138 of this thread.  I also saw some pictures of MIBs on here where the company they ordered from engraved the bottles to have their names and wedding date on them, which may be more "elegant" than what I did.  I was going for more of a personal feel.  You could definitely do white sand and silver shells.... you could even put teal starfish in there I bet!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
