These Oh Sh*t Naughty Nite kits are going to be one of the best things ever for your guests. Our guests were so happy to have extra aspirin, etc. for the nights were there were 1 or 5 too many margaritas :) You did a really great job and tying it in with the colors of your monogram to boot...fabulous :)

Another idea for the use of your future last name would be t-shirts. We had some printed from Vistaprint for our bridal party with the play on my future last name as well. Since it was going to be "Bond", we did a James Bond-themed scavenger hunt around the resort and my girls were the "Beach Angels" so I'm right there with you on making the last name FUN!

Wonderful job and I can't wait to see what else you come up with! XOXO

I contemplated on doing a planning thread but figured it would probably take-up most of my day (even with me being organized) & I thought it best not to unveil everything yet, as the ever "so popular date" of April 21, 2012 is booked solid with 8 weddings at MP.  With so many brides getting married on the 21st of April, I think this is a safe move.  So with that said, I will post a few simple pictures of projects in the making.  As always, if you would like any templates that I have I will be more than happy to email them.

Here are the tags that I made for our Oh Sh*t & Naughty Nite kits.  Along with the wedding weekend survival tag. I did a lot of word play throughout our Website, DIY etc.. on my future last name "Wright"  so here we go:

Made with Metallic Card Stock from paperandmore.com  $29.99 for 100

bag tags.jpg

Again using the metallic card stock

Oh poop -naughty nite kit tags.jpg

These are my oh sh*t kit bags (fuschia organza bags)that one of the above tags will go on. My Naughty Night Kits are in turquoise organza bags (I have to take pictures)

Oh Shit Kits.JPG

Most of the extra contents in the bag I actually sold to two MP-12 future brides (thanks ladies)

Ladies this day off sucks... so far I've washed 2 loads of clothes, took a conference call from work (I hate Blackberry my CEO is always the one calling me on it) Ugh...  and it's raining so of course I'm sleepy. Booooooooooo  msncry.gif  okay enough crying (I had to vent)... I'm trying to decide on a Pre-Travel boarding pass or brochure?

I had extra black metallic card stock so I will use these as the cover of whatever goes inside of them and used my Martha Stewart Butterfly punch and X-acto knife to create the look.  I will of course add some color to these babies (on the outside) once I find what the heck I'm going to put on the inside of them.. This is the only project I dread only because I always alway always over edit myself when I'm sending written documents to folks.  Ugh...

Shout out to my fellow wedding date buddy Yvette or YWS2012 who I talked to for a spell while she's at work not working LOL  TeeHee

I, of course will share with you anything I find out!  I actually contacted MVP and was ready to book but then my date had to change.  Her prices are going up Oct. 1st. So I have to decide pronto if I want to use her.  But between her pricing and day passes, it's so expensive, but another part of me thinks, it's my wedding and I should just do it!  FI, feels very differently!  HA!!!  I will take some time today to contact some others and get their pricing.  I will definitely keep you posted.

I seriously don't know what to do?????  Last time I had my hair and make-up done, the bride told me I had the cutest pumpkin face!!!  umm...that's not what I am going for, so it's dire that I have someone do my hair and make-up that won't make me look like at fat hag!!!  HA~!!!!!

I will keep you posted!!!

Me too, Jamie -- I've been researching this myself.  I originally wanted to use MP's salon because I thought the resort credit could apply towards that.  Now, I've found out that we can't use our credit towards wedding salon services. :(   These are some good things I've read in reviews on here about the MP salon (below).

I'm also considering hiring someone outside the resort -- was looking at Sara Tamargo who uses MAC, but she doesn't have many pics up on her site (saratamargo.com).  Also, I asked for prices from Melissa from MVP, who seems like she'd be GREAT, I'm just not sure if I can rearrange our budget to book her.  (If you want her prices, PM me.)  Also heard good things about someone named Adrian who uses MAC (but don't have any further info unfortunately) and someone named Fernando Fuentes whom I haven't researched yet.

I hope some of this helps.  I'm curious to also know what you find out.  Would you be willing to share some of your findings with me?

I absolutely loved Doris. From the trial to the day of, she impressed me with her work. She was very sweet and nice. I brought in pictures as examples and she knew exactly what I wanted. I was a little nervous for makeup since I didnâ€t have a trial but for the first time ever, I didnâ€t look like a drag queen. I brought my own makeup and lashes and she used a mix of mines and hers and it was perfect. The heat did mess with the lashes because by the end of the night, they were coming off. But my makeup stayed on really well and I was really impressed and felt really beautiful the day of my wedding.

SALON A++: I got my hair done at the Nizuc salon by Maria. They wouldnâ€t let me choose who would do my hair, but I was very happy with Maria. I have a lot of hair, so my appointment took about 2 hours and 15 minutes! I am very happy I scheduled for an hour earlier than they had recommended! She did an amazing job. I brought several pictures, and she did almost exactly what I wanted. She did try to put in a bump at the crown (which I did not want and was not pictured) and was pinning the curls in front in such a way that it almost looked like a halo, but once we fixed that, it truly was perfect! My only complaint would be that it didnâ€t hold up very well. Curls were falling out before I even go to the ceremony, so Iâ€d say bring lots of hairspray and extra bobby pins for touch ups.

Our wedding was scheduled to start at 3:00 so I booked my hair and makeup for 11:30. My appointment was booked with Alberto, and he did a fabulous job. He did my hair exactly like the pictures I provided and was able to cover up my peeling forehead with a great makeup job.

So my civil ceremony contract is due today if I want to keep the date I have... however naturally a monkeywrench has been thrown into the planning. My TA strongly advises getting married here beforehand to save $$, time and any unnecessary stress about legality, translation, etc. I'm okay with the idea, I need to run it by my Fiance... I guess we'd just keep it a secret? Unfortunately the two girls I know who have been married in Cancun that I know personally were married here before they left.

Is anyone planning to do the civil ceremony? Or was anyone planning to do that and switched to symbolic?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
