Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi Dan!  I am getting married at Playacar Palace and am also doing a symbolic there and getting legally married once we return home.  Just let your WC know ahead of time, but it has not been a problem - you just may not get the "honeymoon" package which has breakfast in bed the next day but heck you have 24 hour room service!!

Mrsbruff2B - thanks for your questions post.  Helped me to know the fabric of the aisle runner.  Wasn't going to have it before, but now I may consider it, as I'm thinking of natural type decorations.

Beatyea - are you having guests book through a TA or directly through the resort?

Mochamakes - encouraging news about Claudia!  I'll need to talk to Miami about this deposit business.  It gives guests more opportunity to come if they don't have to pay in full 2 months before the wedding!

Claudia was always able to answer questions within a few days and even helped out when the reservations department wouldn't return phone calls. I wish I never had to deal with anyone in Miami, they were horrible!!!

We didn't have a link for bookings, that wasn't available. Our guests had to call the reservations and put down 20% deposit with the balance due 60 days before departure. That's also when they closed the block, but we were able to book rooms after that date, they just had to be paid in full at reservation.

Great to have a groom here, too!

We're choosing the symbolic ceremony for the ease of it and because we prefer to "customize" our ceremony more (for example, have a friend marry us). And given Colorado's common-law marriage rules, it is probably sufficient, but we do want to formalize it at some point. I would rather do that after the Moon Palace ceremony, because I want that to feel like our real wedding date, but don't know if that will cause us problems.

As an aside, it always feels a little weird posting/reading here, like I'm a guy in the ladies' room. wink.gif But the fiancee isn't into the internet forum thing so doing the web research falls to me.

As a side note - after sending my plethora of questions to Claudia (which she confirmed is actually my WC that I'll be working with on-site), she has told me that she will put me in touch with someone to answer my questions before the 90 days.  AND, I got an additional email from my Miami Coordinator telling me more details on this:

Good Afternoon,

Please be advised that they have informed me that there is a new department called the concierge department that will be able to assist you with the wedding details, which they will then get you in contact with your onsite wedding coordinator 3 months prior.

Please be informed that I am forwarding your questions to Iliana and Lizzie for further assistance.

Looks like they have a new department what will help answer questions and that's who Lizzie is who is helping Coconoir! (right?)  Just thought this may help us clear things up a little...

P.S.  Hoping to book my event sites ASAP through Lizzie, like you suggested Coconoir.

Good Morning everyone....

I just need to vent, as I am getting so upset....I still haven't gotten my wedding contract for my new date.  I know things take longer with destination weddings, but did it take everyone close to a month get their wedding contract from MP?  I am kind of at a halt and can't do anything until that contract is signed.....sad.gif

Ok, thanks!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
