Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Welcome!!

It was hard for me too since I have never personally be to an AI, but if you break the cost of rooms, meals, drinks, etc down by day, it actually ends up being a great deal! I had to do that for some of our guests when they first saw the pricing. Most people get it though...of course you will have the people that will complain up until the day they get there! In the end, I know everyone will be happy they came.

Happy planning!

All you MP brides look wonderful!! I look forward to chatting with you all, and hopefully reading through this forum can ease my nerves about the cost my guests are paying :)

Welcome and congrats!!! Hopefully all of the people that you really want to be there will be ok with it and come. I have come to the conclusion that if you don't want to save for a year to take a great vacation and be there for our special day then don't, but I certainly don't want to hear them complain about having to miss out because they don't want to commit to putting back some money each month. It's your special day and you should have it where you want. Plus if they take the time to see what a great deal they are getting with all their drink, food, room and resort credits they will want to come. Just keep reading and feel free to ask any of us questions. We will know the answer or will be able to direct you to the answer.

Happy planning!

Hey Ladies,

Just checking in to see how everything is going?  Well, my son is headed to Ocean City, MD tomorrow until Monday afternoon.  So, I'm going to try to get some more major things crossed off.  School is just around the corner and he averages 2-3 hours of homework per night.  Also, I'm about to start training so that we can implement a new healthcare database so my planning days while at work are over undecided.gif .  So glad I seized the opportunity knowing what was coming.

Has anyone decided on flowers with Marvin?  I'm still debating on doing real touch, silk or going with Marvin.  I emailed him so we'll see what he quotes.

I pray that your planning is going well!

Hello everyone!  I am new to this site.  I am getting married at the Moon Palace March 16, 2012.  We really appreciate all of the information as we have had similar difficulties as some of you.  It took them about a month to get everything finalized.  Looking forward to learning from all of you and sharing what we know!

Thanks so much ladies! I'm sure I will have plenty of questions along the way... :)

Coconoir1908, I'm having that same dilemna: silk flowers or natural. I think I will go with silk on my centerpieces since they're going to be sitting in water anyway with a small candle above them. But I would really like my bridesmaids and flower girls to have natural flowers if I can find a decent price. Let me know what you end up going with!

Although I sent a quote to Marvin, I'm going to go with the Real Touch Roses that I found on this site.  They are alreay precut etc and she has a ton of them which will save me from ordering (although afloral.com have some pretty good prices.)  This makes our DIY that much more easier.  I will add some turquoise gerbera daisises to the MOH bouquet.  So once they are shipped and received, we will embark on being creative.  For approximate $100 I can't help but to go with this offer.

I'm not too sure what your colors are but she does have orange roses (real touch) left and has reduced her prices from $2.50 per rose to $1.50.

I am going to use Marvin!

We haven't talked prices yet, but I told him I was on a tight budget and wanted to keep things simple. No matter what his prices will be cheaper than MP so thats a big factor for me. I thought about Real Touch, but they are just as expensive or sometimes more than real flowers, and it would be nice to have one less thing to haul down there and have to bring back too. It probably won't be too bad for me since I only have 3 BM and 3 GM and our parents. But everyone seems to love him and say he is very reasonable!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
