Moon Palace 2012 Brides

I am in the process of booking Marvin. His going rate really depends on the types of flowers you want, but are cheaper than the Palace florist. Let me know what variety of flowers you are looking for, and I may be able to share the pricing I have.

Have any of you or will you book with Marvin?  If so what have you found to be his going rate?  I'm thinking of tackling this as a DIY as I'm learning the real touch are expensive as well.  I'm by no means a flower person so I really don't want to spend much.  I have 6 bms, 6 grooms so it adds up.

I am only paying the day pass for DJ Mannia. I got this confirmed after an epic battle with the Palace weddings department.

I'm going to use the complimentary bouquet that MP gives for myself.  So I'm in a toss up between peonies, roses, & gerbera daisies

With my party people, I am definitely submitting a list.  Although it wont' be all inclusive, I would like him to know and be comfortable with the direction that we are headed.  I'm not concerned about the order and will leave that up to his expertise. How about you?

So we have checked off some big things:

*picked up my dress as it came in a month and a half early!

*the BM dresses came in and all the girls recently picked them up and haven't had any issues!

*I ordered my girl's earrings from Etsy

*bought my girl's Coach wristlets for part of their present!

*Ordered what we think we want for the guy's suits- just waiting for a sample to come in so we can check it out

My bridal shower is Sunday and I'm super excited!  We are doing it so early because my sister/ MOH is going back to school in a few weeks 4 hours from us and she plays a sport and her life is basically owned and I don't want her to have to worry about planning stuff for me and be more stressed out plus now we can have something outside when it's nice and not in the snow if it was closer to the wedding date! pinkie.gif

I have contacted Marvin for flowers, and will be using him since he seems to be WAY cheaper than the resort. I am asking MP if I can use the flowers for my complimentary bouquet as either wedding cake flowers or another table arrangement.

I haven't decided on a Dj yet. It really depends on how many people end up coming. I don't want to shell out big bucks if we only end up having 15 people. If its small we will just rent the ipod system with the tech that comes with it. Its almost like having a Dj! But of we have a lot more people and its really a PARTAY then I think a Dj will be needed!

I just sent a HUGE list of questions to Janina, and she emailed me back saying she would forward it to the wedding dept. So hopefully I will get my on site coordinator soon and maybe have a lot of answers about things soon that I can share! :)

So far I have done:

Bought my dress, veil (last year), and pink crinoline for underneath

Bought my shoes

Bought the BM's dresses

Working on our Passport Invites with Rebecca

Created our luggage tags on Zazzle

Ordered barefoot jewelery for my BMs with Red-i by Chelsea

Ordered personalized towels for lounge chairs on Etsy for girls and moms

Booked our Photographer for our wedding and TTD (Del Sol)

Working with Katie from Deco Cancun on centerpieces and decor

Requested to book my locations for all the events at MP (welcome dinner, rehearsal, reception, etc)

Buying dresses and attire for the wedding week

Lost 10 LBS haha :)

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head, but there is still a lot more to do!!!

Hi Ladies,

For those that have or will contact Norma Perez for make-up, please do not quote the price that was given to me!.  I have many many people getting their make-up done and I also using her for other services as well.  It's quite disconcerting to receive an email from a vendor saying "did you say". Please please please contact each vendor for your own pricing.

Thanks

I notice your getting married a few weeks after us! Let me know if they do get you in contact with your on site coordinator! I asked once if I could get in touch and the Miami office flat out said no!  You most certainly have knocked a lot off of your list! How did you get in touch with Deco? If you don't mind me asking what questions did you ask? I am so carefree about most things that I am afraid I should be asking more.

I assumed I would be getting different answers........ that's Palace resorts for you! I hope that if I have the "no outside vendors" removed from my wedding contract and have written in there that I am only charged for day passes then (fingers crossed) I will be okay!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
