Moon Palace 2012 Brides

Recommended Posts

So far,we have...

  • put a deposit down on my dress
  • purchased reception shoes
  • selected bridesmaids dresses
  • decided on flowers with Marvin
  • chosen La Luna to photograph our wedding day (yay!!!)
  • hired DJ Mannia
  • hired MVP Hair and Makeup
  • completed 75% of the OOT bags (everything is designed, and I complete a different project every day)

It does not always feel as though you accomplish very much, but when you list it all out you can really see what you have been working on!

Wow you ladies are SO organized. I feel like I have so much to do and no time to do it! I go dress shopping in August for the first time so I am praying I find something quickly or else I will start to feel pressured about time. I believe I have found my dress for my legal ceremony at home though :)

I am exploring options for real touch flowers and may have found the person on etsy I will go with!

I am about 50% done OOT bags and am now working on personalizing all the things I have purchased!

I have hired a photographer and am flying them in from Boston... can't wait because I LOVE them!

Ahhh thats about it. I better get on it!!

Our photographer was awesome and even though the location we chose ended up being PACKED (since it was like the first hot sunny day we've had), we worked it and I think got some amazing shots! I didn't get to wear one of the main outfits I was planning on wearing though which was a bummer. We brought 3 changes of clothes (the 3rd set was a last minute "casual" clothes grab) and ended up only getting in 2 changes. I actually wore the last minute outfit that I wasn't planning on wearing...and I was having one of those "fat" days, so I'm hoping I don't look lumpy/uncomfortable! LOL

I have made my business cards that will go inside our luggage tags, and will be ordering those soon. HOWEVER, I'm not sure what to use for the string that they will be able to attach to their luggage! I bought some of the hard plastic tags, and they don't come with anything! Any ideas?

I'm also trying to work on our Pre-Travel brochures, but I'm having a hard time being creative enough! I have to say I am not the best when it comes to Office or Word!

Other than that, I'm just trying to compile my list of questions for Janina! I'm trying to cover EVERYTHING so I can have all the questions answered in one email. Any questions you can think of that could be helpful??

Me too! I'm DYING to just even see a couple! I'm just relying on her expertise to make me look better than I felt! LOL

I don't even know what to put on the brochures! Vistaprint is like $30 too, so I want to try and DIY with Word, but I will probably end up scrapping it and going with Vista anyways!

THANK YOU for the loops! I was trying to figure out what I was going to use for that! Haha! You are the best! :)

I can't wait to see your pictures!  And don't worry abou the feeling fat days (we all have them) because as you said "yall rocked the pictures."  Ditto on the brochure, this is something that I am totally not excited about ;-() but, needs to get done.

As far a the luggae tags I purchased the loops as well from an online site (I'll get it once I get home and send).  However, I found the exact same ones on amazon.  http://www.amazon.com/Clear-Plastic-Luggage-Tag-Loops/dp/B002ZVK8MC

Hi, I just joined this site and my fiance and I LOVE your save the date boarding passes.  Do you have a template that you used?  Any idea how much it cost you to make them and how many did you order?  Any information will be helpful!  Thanks!

Ladies,

Have any of you or will you book with Marvin?  If so what have you found to be his going rate?  I'm thinking of tackling this as a DIY as I'm learning the real touch are expensive as well.  I'm by no means a flower person so I really don't want to spend much.  I have 6 bms, 6 grooms so it adds up.

All of you ladies have been so busy!! I feel like I have nothing accomplished compared to you guys.

*  I'm picking up the invitations/save the dates today from the printer for us to assemble this weekend.

*  Went dress shopping over the weekend and have it narrowed down to 2 choices. So difficult because they were both so simple but beautiful. I didn't want to commit just yet as I will be running a half marathon in December and want to see what they look like after shedding some pounds.

*  Have the AHR venue booked as well as the cakes for the reception.

*  Spoke to the caterer (just this morning) on pricing for the AHR.

*  Contacted several photographers for pricing, now I just need to decide on who to use.

And that's about it. I haven't even thought of what to put in the OOT bags or anything else for that matter. So behind!!!

Happy planning ladies!

Are you ladies just paying day passes for DJ Mannia or are they charging you the outside vendor fee to bring him in?

Outside vendor fee, however; he does take a little off of the price since he knows that we have to pay a fee for him to come on.  They are really being strict with the outside vendor fee vs. day passes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
