I am feeling so behind! Everyone is so on task! I am almost done with my STDs and am excited. Originally I liked Kelly's idea of MIB but then realized it's probably out of my budget since I already had plain white invites from a while ago. Ill post some pics. 

 

merrylee that dress is beautiful!! I want to know if you've tried it on also?!

No not yet, I was just trying to find something that I felt like I loved before going shopping.  Because I literally had no idea.  I hate my upper arms so strapless dresses scare the poo outta me :)  But that is something i have to do in the next month or so....

 

the ladies at work say I am worth the dress but it's so hard to spend that kind of money on a single outfit.

Merrylee - I agree with the ladies at work....you ARE worth the dress. This is not just any "outfit" - this is your wedding gown! I think the dress you posted is beautiful. I think the price for a wedding gown is very reasonable. So many gowns nowadays are 3K and up. In regards to trying on a strapless, let's face it ... we are getting married in a tropical setting... neither one of us, regardless of our current body image issues, are gonna get away with wearing long sleeves. You have a full year to tone the arms up. It's not like you have purchased a dress 2 sizes smaller than you are currently wearing and you are trying to fit your hips into it, I think that would be more difficult. I would love to hear the news that you have tried the dress on. I made myself a promise that I would begin dress shopping the last weekend in April. I will let you ladies know how it goes. I decided that I will take pics to motivate myself for those days that I don't want to workout. Please keep us posted, Merrylee...we are all here to encourage each other!

Ladies,

 

Have anyone tried to have their contract amended to add an outside vendor? Or does anyone have a contract with permission to use an outside vendor in it already? 

 

I have Janina Mendoza for my Miami coordinator and over the weekend, I asked for our contract to be amended to allow DJ Mannia (a well know DJ at Moon Palace) to be added in.  This afternoon I received a reply stating "Sorry but we do not accept outside vendors, we do have our own; we will gladly contact you with them if you want."

 

I'm going to ask for a list of their "approved vendors." As I do not want to use their DJ as I have heard mixed reviews, and their prices are crazy hi.  Stay tuned.

 

If anyone has an approved vendor, would you mind PMing me the language used in your contract.

Oh man...

 

I haven't even thought about my contract...I was thinking I just wasn't going to say anything and buy a couple day passes for my Photographers....and I think I will be using Deco Cancun, so other than that I don't know if I will be using other outside vendors...I might try and be sneaky and order my flowers from a local florist and have them delivered like a few other brides have done...although I don't know how they explained it to the coordinator... 

 

Ugh all this makes me just stress! It shouldn't have to be this hard! 

 

Have any of you ladies looked into other ways to get the stuff you are bringing down there? I was thinking about it and don't know how I can fly a bunch of tea light holders and what not down there...it will weight A TON! I was thinking about trying to find a shipping depot or something, and then pick our packages up when we get there. I don't even know if that is possible....

Krsmith,

Deco Cancun aka Zuniga is one of MP's preferred vendors.  If you are flying in your Photog then you will have no problem since they are apart of your guest anyway.  My photog is from Mexico and I am getting a one night room for him and his wife as our TTD is the next morning and they will be driving us, so for us this is better. 

 

The only thing that I wanted was the DJ as I have heard mixed reviews on the JSAV or PSAV (I forgot who is who) folks.  I talked to FI tonight and if we can't get DJ Mannia then we will have a DJ at home that does weddings load us up on ipod songs and just rent their system.  Maybe I will have better luck once my MP coordinator is signed.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
