The support really helps! I knew it was going to happen in some form, but I didn't think people were going to be so conceited say I was planning a DW wedding just so THEY couldn't come! I also have tried to have low expectations, and quite honestly the Aunt that said that is not someone I really cared whether or not she came. It's just insulting! I know in the end everyone that is important will make it happen to be there! 

 

Don't be afraid to send out STDs! I expected some negativity, but I have also gotten A LOT of positive feedback! I have a feeling that the people that complain will still probably go...it's just amazing how people turn it into THEIR day and forget it's YOURS!

Krsmith weren't you experiencing somewhat similar issues when you were trying to your at home wedding which is why you switched to the DW?  People are funny, I know that a lot of people will not come.  We knew that going into this, but my FFIL is not going.  He has the $$ he is willing to give us $5000.00 for this but he still won't go.  I'm not sure what pocket to put that in, but it is out there now. He says since he went to my FSIL wedding @ Beach Palace that this isn't his type of vacation so he won't go back.  Again, it's all about him right?

 

I hope that I will be thrilled to bits by who does choose to go, and I hope more people than I expect will go, but if they don't oh well  They will be SUPER jealous of the amazing pictures and the stories we will have to tell

Merrylee- How terrible! I can't imagine that! That is just so low...you know he will regret it if not right away, as soon as he sees all your pictures! Wow people continue to amaze me! I would love to have a little chat with all the people who think that everything is about them...but of course that would solve nothing and create more drama! We just have to keep doing what we are doing, and have the most fabulous wedding ever! 

 

I am about to send out a reminder email to everyone to make sure they give us a preliminary RSVP so we can set up a somewhat accurate room block. So far only our parents and my Uncle have actually done that like we asked on our STD. I'm gong to give everyone until April before I make the block!

This may be a strange or impossible request, but any chance we can get this thread moved into the correct forum category?  It took me over a week to stumble upon it, as I wasn't skimming through the 'newbies!!' forum.  I'm sure we may get some more participation in this thread if its in the correct category and easier to find??  Mod, is this possible?

krsmith - As someone that is 2 months away from the wedding date, let me say that not many people are respective of RSVPs. We have only received back half of our formal RSVPs and I even had the addressed and stamped. There's no charge for a room block, so just book 25 - 30. You can always increase it if you need more. They release the unused rooms a month before your wedding date.

Not even close! Still have some projects to work on. Not everyone has finished booking. And I'm waiting for my new ceremony dress to be finished.

I can't even begin to imagine how you must feel being so close to the Big Day...especially since I'm a little more than a year away.  I know that your wedding will be beautiful.

Okay, so I'm on my way, my date is confirmed April 17, 2012.  Yay!  Working on my final details of my contract, they have the time wrong, and by the time I received it; it was already already expired.   *sigh*  I think that was our fault because of the family drama that has been going on with FI's family we had a slight delay with getting everything done by the dates we had planned.

 

Oh well, they never said a DW would be easy.  I am so excited to see your pics and everything Mocha, April in Cancun so excited!
