Im not sure if this depends on your TA but this is what is required trough my TA

"Your guests would be required to guarantee their room reservations with a one night deposit at time of booking, there would be a second deposit due date set by the hotel (usually about 120 days prior to arrival date) to complete 50% of total room charges and final payment would be due 45 days prior to arrival date.  Each guest would receive a confirmation invoice from us upon booking detailing the deposit/payment deadlines.  Guests usually welcome the payment plan rather than having to pay in full if booking online and they can also make installment payments in between as long as each deposit is completed on the due dates".

Ok I read somewhere that when our guests book they only have to pay for the first night then can pay the rest when they arrive.  Is this true?

If you book your group contract room block directly through MP, you have to pay your entire stay (for bride and groom) up front in order to secure the group block.  It ends up being about the same either way you do it.

What is everyone doing for room blocks and deposits? My TA says to block 20 rooms we need to pay $2050 up front (which will ultimately be credited to our room). I wasn't planning on having to spend such a large chunk up front...I have so many other things I need that money for! Is anyone else encountering this? blink.gif

Yours isn't different at all.  This is exactly what they ask for if you block rooms through a group contract.

Apparently Feb is "peak"...which I thought was strange since it is before spring breaks and what not. I guess Vday is peak. I don't know if I posted the rates on here earlier but this is what my TA quoted me:

Rates below apply to Moon Palace quoted "per person per night" and include all taxes/fees, valid for stays January 4 - April 14, 2012:

Deluxe Resort View:  $214.00 per person based on double / $392.00 per night single / $206.00 per person triple / $197.00 per person quad
Superior Deluxe Garden View*:  $238.00 per person based on double / $440.00 per night single / $229.00 per night triple / $218.00 per person quad
Superior Deluxe Ocean View:   $250.00 per person based on double / $464.00 per night single / $242.00 per night triple / $230.00 per person quad
Superior Deluxe Ocean Front:  $256.00 per person based on double / $476.00 per night single (maximum occupancy 2 Adults)
Concierge Level:  $272.00 per person based on double / $506.00 per night single (maximum occupancy 2 Adults)
Children 4-17 years pay $52.00 per night.  Child rate applies only when child shares room with 2 or more adults

I'm still trying to figure out how to get around the ridiculous deposit we are supposed to put down to hold a block of rooms ($2,050). We will see!!!!

I have offered this up in a couple other threads, but for some reason, I JUST found the 2012 MP wedding page.  We are also getting married at MP in 2012.  I am heading to the resort in May 2011 to do a site visit.  I plan on taking photos of EVERYTHING and will share with everyone when I return.  If you have any SPECIFIC area of the resort you would like a great photo of, please PM me or make a list here, and I will be happy to get a couple good photos of everything.  I know its hard to plan without seeing the resort, and for some people, making a trip for a site visit might not be possible.  I hope this helps.

I used a template I found on these forums for the outside border of the 'boarding pass'.  Then I designed all the text and pictures inside.  My FI wanted the flower in her colors, maracas and a margarita.  Those were her specifications.  They are printed on highgloss photo paper, which sort of takes away from the boarding pass look, but makes them come out much nicer.  The sleeve is really easy, and I used a template I designed myself.  Its basically nothing more than a 8.5x11 piece of pinkish cardstock tri folded and then altered a little.  If you are a little bit handy, they are actually quite easy to do.  The design was all done in MS word.  Nothing fancy with photoshop or anything like that.  They are much more basic than some others I have seen on this forum, but Im no professional graphic designer, and my FI was thrilled with how they came out...thats all that matters!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
