Moon Palace 2012 Brides

My biggest tip, other than reading and watching this forum, would be to contact airlines for a group discount rate. Most are willing to offer about 10% off, not much but at least something.

Our Miami contact is Pilar, she is great in the beginning and any time I wanted to make a payment, but I'm really jealous of the amount of time she spends out of the office. She's never there.

We are doing the complimentary package as well for the same reason.  I called regarding the charge auth as well and simply put zero.

My wedding coordinator is Pilar - she is for the members and my mom is one msnwink.gif . She seems good so far, she has been responding to my e-mails pretty quickly; hopefully it continues!!

Is anyone else doing a complimentary package? I am doing that so I can mix and match what I want; but on the "charge authorization form" there is a spot for a deposit payment and the final payment... I am sure they need a credit card number just in case of cancellations. I am just leaving those two lines blank, did anyone else do that?

So I called today about getting my contract sent via email instead of snail mail because I was worried I wouldn't get it in time to get it back to them before they released our date! I was told that they are STILL waiting to hear back from the minister if he is available, and once they know, they will email/fax it to us straight away and ASSURED us that the date and time is ours! Whew! So now I am just going to be waiting... but once it is confirmed and we sign the contract, I will be trying to make sure we get the locations we want! Hopefully this won't be too hard!

You will find tons of help and resources on this site.  Unfortunately, flight information for 2012 will come later as it has to do with the airlines updating their information.  I think they do this 12-13 months out if I recall

Happy Planning

We can't stay at the other resorts we like as they are adults only and there will be children coming to the wedding day.

Bride2b2012,

I would highly encourage you to seek out some 2010 MP brides along with their reviews on MP.  A few names are Mrs D to Be, Cutierosie.  Also Trip Advisor which will give you pictures that actual persons have taken.  I think that with all things it is a matter of personal taste as well.  I hope that this has helped or will help you.

Hey MP ladiesssss!!  I'm a 2012 Playacar Palace bride, but love reading your thread since they're both Palace Resorts.  I'm happy to report that I got my contract for 1/6/12!  Yaaaaa!  Quick question, I just e-mailed my WC about a couple things, and I wanted to see if any of you had asked/or had answered the following questions:

1.        Can we still have the symbolic ceremony in Playacar, if we ARE NOT YET legally married in the US?  I am asking this because the 877-line stated that we would not be required to present a marriage certificate in order to have our symbolic ceremony, but that we would just not receive the honeymoon package.  I noticed in the marriage contract, a marriage cert is listed as required.  We were looking to do the legal paperwork here in the states upon our return rather than beforehand so that it would not take away from the symbolic ceremony in Mexico, which we would consider our wedding day.

2.       Can we have someone other than the minister perform our ceremony?  We have a friend who we would like to preside over our ceremony.  If this is something we can do, does he need to bring with him any paperwork?  If so, what?

3.        It also states on the wedding contract that NO outside vendors such as photographers are allowed.  It was my understanding that if they were a guest of the resort (mine would be a guest for at least 3+ nights) that they would be allowed.  Could you please clarify this for me?

The 877-line had answered questions #1 and #2 as yes - we could get married afterward, and we could have anyone we wanted to preside over the ceremony, and they wouldn't need any type of paperwork.  I didn't even as about #3, because I thought as long as they were a guest, it wouldn't matter - in this case, it's my best friend, so she would be there the duartion of my stay too probably.  My fiancé and I will be getting legally married here in the US and having the symbolic ceremony at Playcar Palace – something that our guests will not know about.  As far as they are concerned, the wedding in Mexico will be a legal ceremony.

Thanks ladies, and CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
