Hey Ladies,

I received my confirmation today via the telephone thewave.gif  I will receive my contract (which is sent via email. Make sure you check your spam box) sometime today.  Now I can contact my photog etc.. to give them the go ahead and down payment to make it official.  They were kind enough to hold my date and have been since Nov.  Sarah Sprouille (who is a vendor on this site) will begin our STDs on the 10th so this weekend I have to finish our questionnaire.  MY DIY will be limited to OOT bags (extras inside of it), Pre travel packets and items for the reception.  I'm not patient enough nor crafty/creative to do invites etc..

Very exciting! Still havent heard back since sending in my reservation request. I did leave the number of guests and rooms blank, as it is still a little early to have a number.

Chanel-Question about your photographer. Are you giving them a day pass? Or paying for a night to stay at the resort...I have read mixed reviews on this and have not yet decided on a photographer...any input would be great!

There are tons of mixed reviews for the outside vendors.  I'm going to do my best to obtain 2 day passes (it would be way cheaper).  However; its a shame to say that I think that depending on the coordinator that you receive (this is where the variation of answers come from.)  However; my photog does not require a nites stay. He simply ask that all is set-up via a day pass or whatever required by MP so that he can service us.

welcome1.gifCongrats and welcome!

Did you send in a reservation request or just email them? I think you would get a quicker response if you sent in a reservation request (if you already KNOW you want your wedding to be there). I sent mine in on Monday, and my FI called on Tues to make sure they got it. They told him we were a go and that they would send us our contract in the mail. The Miami office is where they handle everything in the beginning. I believe that everything (emails, phone calls ect) go through them. Just give them a call! You can find it under "contact us" on the MP wedding page!

Good Luck!

As an April 2011 Moon Palace bride, here is my word of advice. Once the contract is signed they will be very slow to respond. I try to make a list of several questions, at least 20, because I know it will take at least a week for a response. I also advise getting a TA to handle bookings, it might end up being cheaper that resort pricing. We're members so we're forced to pay a higher rate and now I worry I won't make the group numbers because it's cheaper for guests to book on their own. But at least I know I have enough for the free cocktail hour.

Congrats mochamakes3 & we thank you for your words of wisdom.

May I ask you what questions (that you have learned of) are more important than others?  For some reason, I thought that contract was going to be lenghty. To my suprise its only 3 pages.  However; my biggest ?? and the biggest discrepancy... is the "outside vendor policy" or shall I say to day pass or reserve a room.

Again thanks so much and I look forward to reading the 2011 Bride reviews and taking notes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
