Ipod Wedding

I'm not very tech savy and have an iPod touch and rarely use it. With that being said...I'm planning on using my iPod for my reception instead of hiring a DJ and just paying the $250 for the speaker system. So my question is...what is the best way to download all these songs? Do I go on iTunes and just pay for each and every song I want on my playlist? Or is there a free music sharing site you can go to that you can get these songs from? I'm clueless! huh.gif

I would suggest you have a friend who is very familiar with ipods/iphones/ipads help you out.  It is actually rare to find someone these days that is not familiar with one or the other.

You can use iTunes to help sync your music.  You import all your existing songs and then you can buy the new ones you want through iTunes.  You create different playlists from your song library, connect the ipod, tell it to sync and you're done.  That is a very brief explanation by the way.  Again I would recommend asking someone who uses theirs often.

Good Luck!!

Thank you! I actually found someone that gave me some great advice to get songs. If you go on youtube and find a song that you want/like...you can copy the web address and paste it into listentoyoutube.com and it'll turn that video into an mp3. It's totally free and really easy to do. I was able to make a playlist from doing that and have other songs of my own already. So I'm on my way....just gotta pick out a few more songs! woot.gif

you definitely cannot use a microphone with the bose system, I just went asking. For an extra 150-200 you can get the attachment/mixer amplifier thingy (lol I am not a techy, can you tell?) that will make the microphone work. I'm still likely to go with the bose system anyways.

I think this is a wonderful idea.

When my friend got married, on her RSVP's she put 3 blank spots and above wrote "Three songs that make you want to dance".

I believe I will be incorporating this into my wedding, seeing as, above stated, there are clubs all over the place, and why spend a ton of money on a dj?

Don't the resorts have something (like the speaker system) to plug the ipod into?  Or are the bose things good enough?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
