Ugh! I've become one of THOSE brides!

So I was hanging out with an old high school friend today and we were catching up and having a good time. However, on my way home, as I was revisiting the conversations in my head, I realized that I was constantly talking about my FH and my FH and my FH! Not really about my wedding but about him and us and stuff like that.  I just thought to myself I hope I didn't come off as one of those brides who just want to talk about themselves and their FH and nothing else. Oh well! It took me a while to become comfortable being engaged, telling people I am engaged and calling my FH, my fiance, rather than my boy friend (although sometimes I still lapse back into ld habits and call him my boy friend). But I guess my moral is, now I guess I am finally getting excited about all of this - engaged, getting married, planning a wedding.  So I just want to share that happiness with everyone that I know how happy I am.

Is anyone else suffering from, "I need to talk about how happy I am with my FH (itis)?

That is completely normal according to all of my conversations with brides. I really enjoy hearing about everything so I've never found it rude. I just get excited for them and their excitement. Just remember to give her a call and catch up on what she is up to every once in a while. She will appreciate the inquisition.

I experienced both sides, at first I was nervous telling people about our engagement, probably because it was such a surprise to me, I just felt uneasy about the million questions that followed..the who's, what's where and when's...then as I have started to figure out the answers to those questions I find myself wanting to talk about it, show people pictures, tell them my ideas and of course talk about my FI...I hold back a lot, I know how annoying that can be to listen to repeatedly..lol

I've taken a lot of business courses, and one idea that has stuck in my head and I try to always stay aware of is to let others talk. Most people feel they've had a terrific conversation if you ask them a lot about them, and allow them to talk. So, my advice....enjoy chatting about your happiness but always make sure you spend some time asking them about how things are going in their life.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
