Majestic Colonial

Hello ladies,

We have 95% decided on Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana.... but before we 100% decide, I thought I would see if anyone knows anyone that has been married at this resort? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

have you checked on Wedding Planning - Wedding Ideas - Wedding Gifts - Wedding Website ? We origionally thought Magestic Colonial also... until I read HORRIBLE reviews from brides there. Things like there "extras" to the wedding packages were CRAZY expensive, and that the resort was not accomodating to requests...

I'll see if i can find that stuff i read.

Also have you checked out Debbie's Dominican Republic travel forum?

I still decided on Majestic for my wedding in July. I read all the horrible wedding reviews and all of them were due to a miscommunication about getting the wedding free if you book 10 rooms. This is no longer the case. No, the wedding is not free and it seems like all the extras are pricy but we wanted a good resort for our guests at a cheap price. Our estimated price is $1200/person for 7 nights and airfare. My parents were there last May and loved it. We have been to over 15 all inclusive resorts around the caribbean and this is the only one they want to go back to and urged me to have my wedding there. So far the WC Larissa has been very helpful and responds to all my emails within hours. There is also a facebook page called majestic brides that has pics and reviews of brides that were married there and didnt regret a thing. Hope this helps.

I'm thinking of doing a vow renewal at Majestic and so far have only read great things about it. I also recommend joining the Facebook group Majestic Colonial Brides. There are lots of ladies on there who will give you the info you need and you can check out their wedding pics as well.

I am having my wedding there. There are 2 WC's one which my friend is dealing with seems pretty easy going with some things and not about others. Then the 2nd WC is the complete opposite and won't budge from what their packages have. They don't like to compromise or give you a deal I tried for the open bar and no go but I figured out some cheaper options so it still works for me.

I'm sticking with it because I fell in love with the resort and couldn't let my self change I found something wrong with every other resort I looked at. The extras are pricey but there are ways around it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
