Hey again ladies! lol! I'm so excited I can't contain myself!! The Pronovias Trunk show is in town at a local bridal shop.  I've been waiting 3 MONTHS for this show to happen, so that I can FINALLY order my dress. I'm between a hand full of their dresses. I've already tried on one that I absolutely love on me, but all the other dresses are in town now, so I'm going to hopefully be making my final decision this Saturday AND with the Trunk Show discount! I'm so excited, just had to share lol!!

My wedding planner (Wilma) contacted me and I was given some options that I have not heard mentioned on here before. One option was white chocolate mousse cake with mint. Has anyone had this before and is it good? I haven't heard good things about the cakes on here but hopefully this is a new option.

Overall, I guess I am a little surprised at the high  cost of anything you add to your ceremony. They charge like $250 just for the CD player which is almost as much as hiring a live performer to play harp or whatever. This seems really high for such a short ceremony... Have any of you had the civil ceremony? How long is it and is it even worth the money to have the music? I just feel silly spending this when it is just my fiance and I. I get the impression the service is extremely short.

Also, which flowers are you all getting? I can't make up my mind.

Sound setup is included unless you're ceremony is on the beach. We're doing ours on the beach and they're charging $250. The upside is for $50 more they're going to keep it set up and play music during our cocktail hour, which is also on the beach. They also said they'd use CD or iPod.

That's crazy, though!  I'm pretty sure that's a new fee - I didn't see it on their site up until the month.

I'm also having some trouble getting a clear answer from the WC Lauren.  I have been asking her for months (literally) if videography could be paid for with the resort dollars and for months she never got back to me.  Finally, after posting on the Palace Facebook page, she gets back to me and tells me it is not covered.  Problem is, there are brides on here who are getting married at other Palace resorts and are being told that the videography is included for all weddings booked before March 1 - which mine is.  I told this to Lauren and her response was pretty much to ask my on-site coordinator which I won't be getting to 1-3 months before the wedding.  That's just totally not ok!!!

I was married in October of 2010 and I had to pay for the sound system as well bc my ceremony was on the beach.  We had 70 people otherwise I definately would NOT have spent the extra money...it is only 1/2 hour if that ceremony.

In regard to the Video, I did use vacation dollars fo my video,.  However, if I am not mistaking they would only allow me to use a certain amount toward it.  Contact Lorena, she tell her your concers, and CC your WC on the email, she will give you a direct answer, but unless they changed the policy you should be able to.  To be honest, it is low quality and if you have to pay out of your pocket then I would hire an outside vendor.  It is nice to have if you can use your vacation dollars but I would have been pissed if I paid all the money they were charging for it.

Thanks for the info Tanya!  I don't think I'll go with the hotel photog (even with the resort credit) then. I think I'll just have one of my family or friends sit up in the front row and videotape from their seat with my camcorder.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
