2011 & 2012 PLAYACAR PALACE BRIDES!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi, My wedding is Monday, April 22!!! What's your name? I'll be sure to say hi when I see you ;) Also, my fiancé and I went for a site visit last month - it was so helpful to see the spaces and picture ourselves back with our friends and family! We love PP :D So if you have any questions I'd be happy to help (if I can). Lorraine

Hi Ladies, I just booked my wedding at Playacar Palace for Sunday April 21, 2013 - such a relief! One of the woman at the resort is telling me I cannot book my ceremony and reception locations until I arrive at the resort! Is this true?! She wrote: Please note, locations are not confirmed until you arrive to the resort and finalize checking your details with your onsite wedding coordinator. This will be according the number of guest you will have.

We have 65 people at Playacar Palace for our wedding in 2 WEEKS!!  I cannot wait to have everyone there because it's a smaller upscale resort (i.e. you don't spend half the time going across the resort in a golf cart like some of the other huge resorts) and because it's literally steps to Fifth Ave where there is TONS to do!  You're right next to the ferry to Cozumel too :)  Also, for the older folks (my 85-year-old Grandma is coming) it's also very easy to navigate around.  I know I'm biased, but I hope this helps!

Hi Lorraine!

I am actually getting married April 27 now - we booked the 21 and then the resort sold out a few days after and none of our guests could book!! So we moved it back a week.. I will be there from Apr 24 to May 1 - when do you leave? Maybe our paths will meet! Where are you having your ceremony and reception?

I am not an active poster on these boards, but I've been reading them every week for a year and a half now...Thanks to all of you, you all have helped me plan my wedding more than you know.

Alanak, after 1.5 years of planning, my time is finally coming....So excited I am getting married there on April 28! We are so excited it is finally near!!!!! I'll see you there :)

We are expecting 27 guests, bringing our own photographers, bringing all my own decor. We have DJ Doremixx, mariachi, violinist - ceremony on beach, cocktails on cielo terrace, dinner at solarium, and dancing/reception on the beach! We are kind of doing it big for 27 people - I was hoping more would come, but what can ya do!!!??

Hello all Playacar Palace brides,

I had my wedding on December 9, 2012 but couldn't find the time to write a review. Sorry... I hope the following pictures will help you plan your perfect wedding!

Wedding Coordinator: My wedding planner was Wilma and she was amazing! She agreed to almost every request we had. Most importantly, she saved us quite a bit of money by letting us use outside vendors. She got all our requests noted and followed exactly how we envisioned. Everything was under her control and she was very pleasant to work with.

Flowers: We ordered our decorations and bouquets from Laura from Premium Flores (premiumflores@gmx.es). The price was reasonable and the flowers were great! They came in fresh and on time. I would recommend them.

Makeup/Hair: I booked Trio Stylist and they were great! I would highly recommend them. Adrian, not only helped with my makeup, he also recommended a great taxi driver for our trash the dress session. I had a great time with them.

If you stay at this hotel, you MUST MUST MUST go to the park next to the hotel for photo session! The park is only located 3 minutes walking distance from the hotel. No one was there and we had lots of great pictures.

Does anybody know the tipping standards at an all-inclusive resort? My fiance has never been to Mexico or any all-inclusive resort, but heard that he should take $500 just for tips for the week. Does that sound a little extensive? Also, does anyone know if you can use your own plastic tumblers with lids at the pool? Thanks!

I like reading and keeping up with this thread so that I can re-live (in my head) the great times I had at this place.

Would love to go back, but there are so many other places in the World that I need to go see.

Still, I will prob be back someday, hopefully the Playacar Palace is still doing what it does.

Have fun in Mexico everyone.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
