Hi! Sorry I haven't been on since the wedding! Our wedding was amazing. Everything was so well orchestrated. The set up fee was $65 ( per event) and I did the diamond collection. I did however bring my own decorations too as you can see from the pics that del sol posted. By the way, del sol was sooooo amazing and next weekend is our AHR where we will be showing off all of their hugely talented gift of photography. Just book them, as those pictures are priceless and will be the one thing that remains after that very special day. Wilma was amazing and so helpful. Don't stress it ladies, it was picture perfect! My only complaint would be with dj doremixx who showed up 2 hours late! Luckily, Wilma had the resort dj cover until then, and I didn't notice until she told me. Doremixx never apologized nor offered an explanation. They didn't even come up to say hello! Oh well, I didn't let it bother me, but I wouldn't be booking them.

Otherwise, the Playacar Palace was spectacular: small, quaint, with excellent service! All of my guests were really impressed!

I did my hair and makeup with styling trio and they were awesome! I totally recommend them!

Good luck ladies!

Hola Lola2012,

Just wanted to send you a huge thanks for your kind words and for trusting our creative vision!!! You looked absolutely stunning on your day and we wish you both many years of happiness and laughter.

All the best,

Del Sol Team

I find the information from the hotel purposely vague and confusing. Iâ€m having a very hard time trying to figure out what our wedding costs would be. We are on a very tight budget and canâ€t book anything until we have an idea of what we are getting into.

We would like the following (complementary package + services):

  • We are having a very short symbolic ceremony, officiated by my brother. Does not have to be at the beach, but it should have music.
  • A cocktail party, does not have to be private, could be at the bar.
  • Dinner (Anywhere)
  • Music and dancing (Either DJ or IPOD)
  • Mariachi Band
  •

It would be fantastic (I would be eternally grateful), if those of you who got married recently could give us 2013 brides an idea of what you actually paid.

Also, if you had dinner, how long did it take? If you had dancing, how long did it last? If you had private functions where you charged for the time over the 2-3 hours?

Thank you soooo much!

Hey ladies!  Is anyone on here getting married the weekend of Sept 28-30?  If so, I'll be down there scoping out the resort that weekend!!  My roommate-for-life and I finally got confirmed to meet with Wilma and the decor and music vendors during our site visit at the end of this month so we can relax and know everything is in good hands for our wedding in Jan 2013.  I still don't know exactly where we're having our ceremony, receptions, or private events for 80-100 people - so I plan on taking a bajillion pictures and notes.  If there's anything you'd like me to find out or specifically take a picture of, please lemme know!  I'm so excited to finally visualize how this is going to come together.

Pacificarol and Andrea80 - I'm SO happy to hear you guys have large wedding groups and can't wait to hear all about your weddings and what you decide to do for your decor, music, guests, etc.

ATTENTION ALL PP BRIDES...............................................

Let's hear about what you have planned for any of the following:

  • wedding date
  • ~ # of guests attending
  • Planning an at home reception? Y/N
  • wedding website - have you created one for your guests?
  • invites - did you do this?  some do, some don't - any pics?
  • what themes are you doing (if any)
  • wedding colors
  • # of peeps in the wedding party and what they are wearing
  • types of private events
  • locations for your ceremony, receptions, private events
  • flowers, bouts, etc.
  • decor
  • Anything else fun and festive?

Here's what I'm planning:

  • Wedding date: Jan 26, 2013
  • # of guests attending: 80-100
  • Planning an at home reception? Nope
  • Wedding website: www.grantandkyra.com
  • Invites - Wanted a super non-traditional and FUN invite so we decided to make them since I dabble in graphic design. It was a LOT of work to assemble but I'm thrilled with how they turned out.  Will post a pic when I decide to post it to pinterest :)
  • Complimentary PP beach set up + want to add a little decor for each of the chairs lining the aisle
  • Colors - blues and orange
  • 5 girls / 5 guys - Girls get to pick their own orange dresses, nude shoes + gold jewelry / Still working on the guys attire.
  • Unlimited private events:  Rehearsal dinner, Welcome Fiesta, Morning/Afternoon Bloody Mary & Mimosa bars for bridal suites, Ceremony, Cocktail hour, 4-hour reception
  • Locations - still waiting for confirmations of what's available
  • Flowers - Not going crazy here since we can't take anything home with us.. going to use Parasols for my maids instead of flowers.
  • Decor - I'm a DIYer so I'm gonna be getting creative here.  Want to use a bunch of chinese lanterns and papel picados (the mexican paper cutouts), blue sea glass and other fun stuff.
  • Fun and Festive - I really really really really really wanted to get a Tequila Donkey but my man said no dice because then no one would remember our wedding haha.  If you don't know what they are, please google it for a good laugh.

Okay that's it for now.. PLEASE SHARE!!!!!!!

Could you find out if there is a fee for the wedding guests over the 30ppl limit? I will have 75+ room nights so I will have unlimited private events, but I'm not sure if I will be charged extra for going past the 30 guest maximum for the wedding ceremony/ reception. Also will I have to pay the fee to make my reception a private event? Lastly could you take pictures of the south and north solarium as well as the Cielo bar?? Thanks soooo much!!! I'm so lucky to have found this site!

Hi KJ,

Here go my details so far. I'll make sure to report back after my Dec wedding.

  • wedding date: Dec 10
  • ~ # of guests attending - approx. 80 to 90
  • Planning an at home reception? we had a small wedding at home with 20 ppl
  • wedding website - have you created one for your guests?
  • invites - did you do this?  some do, some don't - any pics? I ended up getting mine at minted. Really affordable and creative: www.minted.com They even have some with a Mexican theme
  • what themes are you doing (if any): no theme I think...will just play off the location (beach)
  • wedding colors: using white, blush pink, plum and silver. Groom is wearing charcoal gray linen pants with a white linen shirt.
  • # of peeps in the wedding party and what they are wearing: only 2 flowergirls and they will hopefully be wearing off-white raw cotton dresses
  • types of private events: welcome dinner, a kids party and a morning-after brunch
  • locations for your ceremony, receptions, private events: not sure yet but the wedding reception will be indoors and the ceremony on the beach (only option that can accommodate our size)
  • flowers, bouts, etc.: don't know yet. Have contacted Zuniga many times but have never heard back. Any suggestions??
  • decor: not sure yet. probably just simple white linens. Would love to have lots of candles but not sure if I can. For ceremony will buy some paper parasols and fans.
  • Anything else fun and festive?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
