2011 & 2012 PLAYACAR PALACE BRIDES!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

We actually did the complimentary package - which we loved because it was so simple, and the beach & the water were a good enough back drop for us, but we also ended up getting a Mariachi & some other little things, so we ended up spending around $2000 on everything - not including the photographer.

We did not have to pay for any additional people over the 30 for our unlimited private functions - (which were very nice, BTW)

Was it windy, was it very humid?

Has anyone actually used the Complimentary Package without really adding anything on? I am planning a traditional reception at home, so I just figured we would get married on the beach and then maybe hit up a restaurant and bar after, rather than an additional reception.

Any feedback, opinions, advice and pictures would be so very appreciated :)

And congrats to you that just got married!!!

Lindsey, check out my planning thread.  I did just what you are trying to do!  http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/77108/kristyns-playa-del-carmen-planning-thread-1-6-12/80

Hi ladies, silly question but how did you book your wedding date and time?  I am getting quotes from my agent for Feb 27, but how do i know they will be available for a wedding during my stay and preferred date?  I sent an email to the address listed on Playacar Palaces website 3 days ago and have not heard back.

Is this something my agent arranges or something i need to continue waiting for?

If it's something i need to do, can someone share the email of someone who responds?  Or am i being impatient?

I just want to book the resort already.

I actually went thru destinationweddings.com with Beverly Tanner who is just so great and I would recommend her to anyone! She books the reservations and gets all information and quotes for any guests that might want to go. She also gets you in touch with the Coordinator at the resort!

I received the following information from Wilma and would like to share with you:

Due to new projects that Playacar is having, the North Solarium is under construction (for new suites), I think they will finish in 2 months and at that time I will know if we can still use this venue for private events or we will have another option, as soon as I know about this, I will let you know.

My wedding will be in December so I should have plenty of time to change my reception to other location even though I prefer to have it at North Solarium.

We are expecting about 90 guests which limits our options a bit but also guarantees us the 75 room nights. And thanks for sharing your email - I might take you up on the offer :)

Was your photographer on their lists? They said that I could only go with smile market but have since learned that Sol is also ok (otherwise they are charging $500 to bring your own photographer)

Thanks :)

I got married on May 27th at PP. I haven't had a chance to write a full review yet, but I will soon. We uses Photos in Cancun and I really can't say enough about how AWESOME they were! They have shot at the resort for several other wedding too and I only needed a guest pass for them. You are allowed to have any guest that you want at your wedding and they are simply guests. They're prices are very, very reasonable compared to others and their pictures are better than most of what I had researched. I got discs with about 2000 pictures on them before they left the reception, so I could look at them the very next day. They even quickly put together a gorgeous slideshow of pictures from the wedding to watch, just before we left the reception which was a total surprise. Of course we loved it! It took me about three weeks to get through all of the amazing pictures and I got to send Derek my top 150 to photoshop "enhance". I have no idea what he will enhance because they are gorgeous as they are. These photographers are truly artists and they capture the most interesting angles.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
