2011 & 2012 PLAYACAR PALACE BRIDES!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am planning a February wedding. Has anyone used the photographer from the hotel? I am bringing an ameteur photographer with me, but wanted professional photos as well. I am wondering at the quality.

Thanks!

Beth

I used the hotel only because it was part of the package and if we paid for it why not, but I knew I wouldnt be happy with that. I had Blue Lense Caribe come in and do my wedding. They were AMAZING. I would 100% recomend them. We were with them for 12 hours and they were very fun to be around! Our pictures were great. We got the pictures back from the hotel photographer and they didnt even come close. If I had only went with them we would have been sadly dissapointed.

Hey ladies!!!!  29 days!  Woohooo!  Okay, so I think I have the events nailed down.  We are having an AHR the Friday that we get back from Mexico so I was not springing for a private event!  We are going to do the cocktail hour the night before as a "Welcome" party at 8:30 in the Cielo Terrace, as suggested by Wilma.  For that, we are doing the Mexican appetizers!  The wedding is set for 4pm and we ARE doing a first look session with our photographer.  I was really torn on this, but the choice was either rush and not get a ton of pictures, or change the time to an earlier time and risk there being a ton of people on the beach, which is where we are having the ceremony.  After the wedding will be pictures and then time for everyone (including me!) to get changed before our 6:30 dinner in the Italian restaurant.  We had soooo much to pick from and there will be a ton of food!  I attached the menu and we got to pick from each category!

I decided to change after the ceremony and pictures because my mom comes home Sunday, the AHR is that Friday, so it doesn't leave much time to get the dress to the cleaners and back if there are major stains or dirt on the dress from walking around the restaurant and resort.  I found a dress from BCBG that I'll be wearing for after!

Hi Yunric!  I wish I could help, but I am actually bringing my photographer down with me so they are a guest of the resort for a few nights.  Maybe some of the other girls on the thread could share some insight?

Hello Yunric! We are getting married on August 3,2012 and we have plans to use Juan Navarro. Waiting to sign contract. I emailed Wilma regarding del Sol and La Luna being way out of my price range. She said that was fine but I would have to pay for their day pass. Ask your wedding coordinator. I explained to Wilma how important photography is to us and let her know that after doing research we found Juan Navarro's work very pleasing and reasonable.

Wilma's email is wzahoul@palaceresorts.com

She is very easy to work with. We were able to bring an outside photographer. All we had to do was purchase a day pass. We had more than one photographer with the package we purchased so in our case we paid for two day passes for the photographers. There were no issues. I've said it once and I'll say it again anybody going with the resort photographers included with the package or otherwise will be sadly disappointed!

Hi Tabby, Thanks for all the information.  That's great!  I am looking into 2013 and your info has helped.  I am also feeling the amethyst collection.

Could you email the attachments? cynfullee@aol.com  They don't open up on the thread!  Thanks so much!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
