@sharkyak - Any photos are always welcome! :) :) Congratulations on your wedding, I bet it is so surreal that it's getting so close. I'm sure it will be beautiful! Where are you getting married? We are hoping not to do a wedding directly on the beach but overlooking the ocean - I think the terrace is really the only place for this? So any pictures of the terrace, solariums, cielo bar/terrace, are greatly appreciated! :)

Sorry, but can someone explain to me what 75 room nights means? Is that if you add up all the days that your guests have a room eg. 7days = 7 room nights?

Totally haven't heard this before and I am confused?

Any clarification would be great!

Also, does this have to be directly booked with the hotel or can it be with any stay that you book through other means like online, other wholesalers ect...

Thanks everyone!

Yes Absolutely!  The more pictures the better of each venue site that is available for private functions.  Also, if you get to sample any food, let us know how it tastes!  I want my wedding reception on the beach but I am worried about doing a buffet meal.

Also, if you can find out what it would cost to rent out the banquet room for later (eg after we are kicked off the beach, so we can go dance!)

Are you planning on doing this for your wedding???

You must be getting super excited!

Thanks!!!

@Lola2012 - Yes.. The 75 room nights is the total number of nights at the resort that your guests have booked. So if you have say 20 guests coming and they all stay in their own room for 4 nights each, you have 80 "room nights" and qualify for the unlimited private functions! :) This means you and your groom-to-be also get 7 nights free at the hotel, which is a great perk! There are also different perks or 60 "room nights" and so on. All of the info is on the Palace Resorts website, too!

If you scroll up a bit, Tanya posted the information for the costs of private functions (based on how many guests) if you do not qualify for the unlimited.

I am having my ceremony at 4pm, cocktail hour from 5-6, dinner/reception 6pm-1030pm. At first I was worried about the reception being cut-off at 1030pm, but then you start thinking about everything. It's going to be a long day for everyone leading up to the ceremony. So, really 1030pm isnt bad from wrapping up the ceremony. Plus it's an all inclusive resort. It's not like the party has to end. It gives those that want to turn in the option to leave and those that want to continue can go to one of the hotel bars. The only little bummer is then the DJ is done, but I'm not worried.

Send me your email address. I can send you some info I have that might help. Including some pictures.

I do have a question for someone who has had a reception at the hotel. At what point during the wedding day were you able to decorate for the reception? Did you do it yourself or did the coordinator do it?

Yes, 7 nights booked= 7 room nights. There are different room night levels that offer certain free functions. With the peolpe attending my wedding I maxed out the 75 room nights and ended up somewhere over a hundred. So, my rehearsal dinner, reception dinner, and farwell brunch are free. I think you get two hours of cocktail time as well to put in somewhere. I would think you have to go through the hotel or travel agent to build these up. I've done all my stuff via travel agent. She talks to the Palace resort wedding contact, gets my questions answered, books all my people. Very organized. I suggest going through a travel agent to do this. I dont think it would have turned out as well if I hadnt? I am using her now so she has everything fresh in her memory. Her name is Cynthia and her email is Cparks@travelwizard.com

Less than a week and I'll be in Mexico, less than a month and we'll be getting married!!!

Lola2012: Do you have an email address. I can send some pics I have and maybe some useful information to help you out. I've done all my bookings through a travel agent. She's dealt with everything from asking my questions, finding the answers, coordinating the group booking, getting some extra stuff put in the contract. She's been a bonus plus she organizes everythingâ€s and makes sure the deadlines are met. I donâ€t know how I would have done it not going through her. If you'd like her name is Cynthia and her email is CParks@travelwizard.com

I am getting married on the beach at 4pm. Cocktail Hour (Ceilo Bar) from 5pm-6pm. Dinner/Reception (North Solarium) from 6pm-1030pm. I am bringing in my own DJ. At first I thought 1030pm was early, but the more I thought about it the better I liked it. Leading up to the ceremony is going to make a long day for all our guests. So, the way I see it, ending at 1030pm allows the guests to turn in for the night, or move on to one of the hotel bars, but atleast at that point they have the choice. I think itâ€ll work out just fine.

Yes, I am getting excited! One week until weâ€re in Mexico and less than a month until our wedding J

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
