2011 & 2012 PLAYACAR PALACE BRIDES!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hello!  Thank you for posting all that information.  I was booked at the Azul Beach but I am now looking at Playacar Palace...just waiting on confirmation.  I wanted to ask if anyone knows about the costs of cocktail hour and also for having a private reception on the beach.  I called and spoke with someone but I think she gave me the wrong info.  She said all I had to pay for was $12 pp for a dinner/drinks on the beach.  That seems way too cheap, and after viewing the Pdf's it seems wrong.  Can someone please clarify on the prices for dinner and also for cocktails at a terrace?

Also, how much are decorations for tables?

And does anyone know how much it would be to have an open bar extended for an additional 2 hours?

Thank you so much !!!!

Hey everyone!

I have read through the entire thread (again) and still not quite finding answers to a couple of questions I had... I was also wondering about the cost for cocktail hour/reception per person. I know we will most likely be qualifying for the unlimited private events - does anyone know what the cost is per person above the 35 guests that are included, or how this works?

I am also really disappointed because we booked our ceremony for 6pm. I thought we would be able to have a cocktail hour plus a 4 hour reception, taking us to around 11:30pm - but I just read that outdoor receptions cannot go past 10:30pm. Has anyone had this issue? The 5pm slot is booked so I am not sure if they will let me change it or make an exception for us to have the reception until 11:30pm, but I cannot get ahold of ANYONE and it is very frustrating!!

Thanks for any info ladies!

Stephanie

Hi there! As far as the time, I have heard that due to the Mex. Government all private outdoor events are suppose to end at 11 pm. You might be able to push it till then if you ask them. They probably prefer 10:30 just so they can take down stuff. I have a question though about this unlimited private event... How do u qualify? Does air and hotel have to be booked with the hotel? Any help on this would be great!

If I am not mistaking, anything over 35 you need to hold a private event. (But don't quote me on that) They definately will not let you go past 10 or 1030 outside.  You have to move it to the ball room...did you try all of these contacts? Ph: 1-877-PAL-4-WED  email: [email protected]

*From 31 to 40 $ 800 usd

Above prices are for 1 hour of cocktail reception ,including open bar and hors dóeuvres .

Private wedding function

*$400 usd per table of 10 guests

*Includes estándar décor (white tablecloth and napkins)

*Event includes function space , menu , 2 hours of open bar services

*Buffet and platted dinner services require a minimum of 20 guests

*Platted dinner is offered in indoor areas only

Hey Lola! Thanks for that info - maybe in that case they'll let me move my ceremony up to 5:30 or something like that, since 5pm seems to be booked!

As far as the private events -  if you have 75 room nights booked for your wedding, you get unlimited private events. I am not sure about the cost beyond that - maybe someone else does? If you have 60 room nights booked, you get one free private event. There is information on the wedding website for that, I believe!

Hey Tanya, thank you for the info - I hope they will let me move my ceremony, as I've been trying to get this corrected for some time and haven't had any luck! Are the prices you listed for the cocktail hour and private reception the same even if you have the "unlimited private functions" for booking 75 room nights, do you know? Or how exactly does that work? We will want to be accomodating about 40 people and are anticipating getting the 75 room nights, so I am wondering if you  have to pay the above amounts regardless?

Thanks so much, you've been a great help !

If you are going through the hotel for your group booking, I think that you have to pay everything up front and then they reimburse you.  i went through an agent and had unlimited private events and did not pay anything out of pocket

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
