2011 & 2012 PLAYACAR PALACE BRIDES!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Girls - I'm new to this site, but I could desperately use  some help.  My WC just told me that I'm getting married at the Suite, instead of the beach?  Does anyone know what that means?  I'm trying to get her to explain, but I'm having some issues.

Do any of you have pictures of "the Suite"

Please help

Heather!

Hello All!

I am planning a wedding in June 2012 at Playacar Palace and plan on having a cocktail hour directly after the wedding with a private reception to follow. Does anyone have pictures of north solarium or had an event there? We were looking at possibly having our reception outdoors and I didn't know if any of you have done this and if it was too hot/humid? Also if you used an outside flower company, which one did you use?

Thanks!

Taylor

Hi there!  If you go back a couple pages Tanya so generously gave out the website and password for her wedding pics.  I believed she had an event there!

Hi Ladies!

TRW6- I had my welcome dinner in the North Solarium...so all the pictures that you see of everyone wearing white (with the exception of myself, husband and ids) is in the North Solarium...as far as the weather, I cant help bc I got married in October, but I was there for a site visit the July before and it was pretty hot during the day. Please feel free to ask questions!

Tanya

Hey Tanya,

How are you???? You are always helping out all of the girls on this site, you are so nice. :)

I have a question.  My parents went to see PP a couple of weeks ago and she told me the CIELO BAR is right at the entrance from the hotel to the pool/beach.  Wasnt it annoying having people come and go while you guys were having your cocktail hour?  Or did they close that door for the other guests at the hotel?  I want to have my cocktail hour there but not if poeple are coming and going right through my cocktail hour.  Sounds terrible!

Hey Tabby!

I am great!  Getting ready to pop w baby #2!!!  I love that I can help you guys out, bc like I have said before there was little to ZERO info out here when I got married.

I didn't have the cocktail hour in the Cielo bar, I had it on the Cielo Terrace.  While they don't stop people from walking through, the entire area is set up for the function  which is a big space, so if there were people walking through from the pool to the bar it wasnt a big deal, it is very spacious so most of my guests were either at the cocktail table they had set up or on the couches.  Here is a pic of Cielo Terrace, the steps behind my sister are the steps coming up from the pool...but if you look to the left that is all couches and they set up smal tables and chairs, to the right is the exact same thing, and they buffett is set in the middle and the bar to the right...Also there are 2 other entrances/exits, so it is not the only means of passing thorough. Hope that helps!

Gotcha! Thank you, that makes sence.  I can see how the terrace is on the site and when people walk though they are not where you are. Gotcha.  I guess I am just worried people will think that its a hotel event and just walk over and what not... you know how some people do. Haha!  But maybe I can ask the hotel for a Private Party Sign or something! :)

Thank you T! :)

Hi everyone!

My name is Stephanie - I have JUST begun the wedding planning stages and am hoping for a May 2012 wedding at Playacar Palace (unless it is all booked!!). I was wondering if any of you have recent contacts for the Playacar that would get me a head start on getting some information? I have emailed the hotel but have not yet heard anything back and want to get the ball rolling on the planning! :)

Also, I haven't actually been to the Playacar Palace - does anyone have pictures of the places such as the Cielo Bar, Terrace, etc? I'd like to try and get an idea of where we want to plan cocktail hour, reception, etc! :)

Thank you in advance, this forum has been *VERY* informative!

Stephanie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
