2011 & 2012 PLAYACAR PALACE BRIDES!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I really don't want to sound like some arrogant American but I was told by the wedding planner that they only offer the ceremony in Spanish. Is this really the case? I just assumed most brides would want to hear what they were agreeing to :) I love Mexico and on any other occassion would never expect MY native language to be spoken. I guess I just sorta figured that they cater to tourists. Can you give me an idea of how it works?

I don't think you sound like an arrogant American!  I want me and my FI to actually know what's going on!  Because of the Spanish only civil ceremony, requirements for blood testing, witnesses needing to arrive early, and the costs associated with getting everything translated - my FI and I are opting to have a very very very quiet civil ceremony here in the States and having a symbolic ceremony in Playa.  This will mean that we can write our own ceremony and no one will be any the wiser :)

Welcome!!!  I am January 6, 2012 (Little Christmas!) and we are also doing the complimentary wedding.  My best friend is a phenomenal photog so she will be doing our pics, and we will be adding on the videographer. I'm not sure what we are going to be doing as far as a DJ is concerned because we are having an AHR the week we return so Idk if I really want to shell out all that $$.  I think if we do qualify for a free event, then I would go for the iPod at the reception.  I also got chair sashes from another BDWer from the freecycle forum on here so I can dress up the setting a bit!

How has your communication been with the WC?  I haven't needed to contact her at all - we still have quite a bit of time, especially for a DW!

I was thinking about bringing chair sashes and table linens too.  Another bride told me she did that.  I'm just trying to figure out how to get them there.  As far as the WC, communication is rough.  Sometimes she replies the same day, sometime she never replies and I have to call her.  In the beginning it was REALLY bad.  I actually asked her to move my account to someone else.  She has improved since then but it gets really annoying, especially now that things are getting down to the wire.

Hey again ladies!  Do any of you know if we can spend any of the $1,500 resort credit on wedding stuff if we got the Complimentary Package??  I'm sure you can't use all of it on it, but I was wondering if a portion is approved to use towards the wedding, since they let you use a portion on the other wedding packages.

Hey there!  So for 2011 the site says "WEDDINGS: Use up to $1,500 resort credit on select Precious Collection Wedding Packages exclusively when you book a 5-8 night stay, $750 Resort Credit with a 4 night stay, $500 Resort Credit with a 3 night stay, $2,000 Resort Credit with a 9-11 night stay, and $2,500 Resort Credit with a 12 + night stay." So as long as it's extended for 2012 I think we should be able to!

Can anyone help a newly engaged newbie with information or pictures of Cancun Palace? We are planning to have our legal ceremony at home then head to Cancun Palace for a symbolic ceremony and expect approximately 50 of our 165 invited guests to come. We will want a semi private rehearsal dinner Friday and a ceremony and private reception Saturday night. I am having trouble getting a response. I have emailed my request and also emailed the Miami office with no response...Please help! We want an October wedding so I need to hurry

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
