Robyn's Planning Journal - Lots of pic's!

Recommended Posts

Just as I've read a million times before on here - I CAN'T BELIEVE ITS MY TURN TO SHARE!!!

I am getting married January 8, 2011 at El Dorado Royale in Riviera Maya with 37 guests attending from all over the U.S. and a few from London and Ireland.  The FI and I are getting married legally in the U.S. in a quickie court house ceremony before we leave for Mexico.  I debated getting a "wedding outfit" for that day but since we literally get married and then head to the airport, I'm going for comfort over style.  I will be dressing up our cute little maltipoo in a black bow tie as he is one of our witnesses.  :-)

I honestly don't know what I would have done without this website as I never would have known the things I should have done for a destination wedding.  I think I would have just shown up hoping everything was done for me!

Ok, we started out with our Save the Dates - which I saw the idea of a photo booth on this site.  These are from Magnet Street.

Then our Boarding Pass invitations - also from Magnet Street.

And I apologize that I can't seem to figure out how to shrink these photos up to a smaller size.

Our reception will be at La Glorieta.  The location I wanted was already booked, so I'm hoping this will be alright.  Its not covered at all.

La glorieta Overview 2.jpg

Our wedding toppers include a groom with webbed feet - to represent 1) my absolute love of frogs and 2) to show that he's "almost" perfect.

Some props for the photo guest book.  We are going to have the guests take fun pictures of themselves with a polaroid and post them to the book with some fun quotes

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
