How many suitcases did you take?

Recommended Posts

Ahh I've already been thinking about this and I'm still 11 months out!  Anybody know what Nolitours policy is for brides?  Do they allow you an extra checked bag at no charge?

I'm too early in my planning to really know how this will play out, but as I plan things over the next several months, I intend to keep this question in mind.  I see how easy it is to get carried away and forget that it all has to be packed.  I don't want luggage fees eating up any $ I save by DIY'ing, so I'm going to keep the decor to a minimum, unless it can be bought in Mexico.

Many things I want, we can either be sure to have by buying it here & packing it, or take a chance on only possibly having it by buying it down there (the risk being that we may not find what we're looking for).  Wherever possible, I'm trying to have the 'take a chance' attitude and ok with the possibility of not having whatever it is.  A few things, I'm sure I'll be unwilling to compromise on, but hopefully not several suitcases' worth!

We both took down two suitcases, and I brought my dress on the plane with me.  As we were checking in, the lady upgraded us when we told her we were getting married, and we flew business class all the way there.  It was amazing.  The extra luggage actually didn't cost as much as I thought it would.  It was only $30 each, and we were expecting to pay like 100.00 each.

I have a hard time with taking to much stuff on just normal trips, but this is my wedding. My fiance will try to keep me on a limit of how many bags. I wanted to do sand buckets as part of our OOT bags instead of the bag, but afraid they will take up to much room. My common ground(fiance) will remind of this as I start buying stuff. Hopefully!!

I called beforehand and they told me I would have to put it in an overhead bin.  I got to the airport and they told me I would have to put it in an overhead bin.  I got on the plane and they put it in a closet.  I had a heavy dress so it was just a pain to carry through the airports, customs, immigration, etc.   I wouldn't let anyone else carry it either.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
