This is very interesting. I am about to sign my contract but I am going to put a clause in it before! We are trying to do our wedding on a budget and using outside vendors will definitely help!

Does anyone know a good photographer to use?

It is cheaper to get them a room for nite if you have to pay a vendor fee and a day pass. I believe you have to pay both. I paid for a 1 night room for our dj & asst. and our 2 photographers. Cost me just over $300 for each room.

We have an exception request for our photographer (Del Sol) and in our contract, it states we just have to pay their day pass. Nothing is in my contract (nor have I been told otherwise) about a vendor fee and/or paying for their room. So strange...

I'm starting to research DJs though, so I'd be interested to hear from Palace brides that have been through this and any advice!

I am currently working on getting our contract to state that outside vendors are allowed. They have already agreed to put in the contract that outside photography will be allow, but now I am working on the DJ. I really want a DJ, but I don't want to spend tons of money on one. Has anyone had any luck also having an outside florist be allowed? I'm thinking about just going to pick the flowers up from the florist the day of. Let me know! Any info helps.

hey ladies! For what is worth I just had them take out the vendor clause altogether. They did this in my original contract. But since then I have changed the time of my wedding. So when they sent me a new contract it had some wording about the vendors staying at the resort. So I crossed it out and told my WC that this is not what i agreed to when I addressed the issue with her boss and boss's boss. I am using an outside vendor and dj, and most likely a florist. I have no intentions on paying any fees!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
