My Puerto Morelos Site Visit - NOW Sapphire, NOW Jade, Dreams Riviera Cancun, Ceiba del Mar and Azul Sensatori - with link to photos!

Recommended Posts

OMG, trying to find them on a map was IMPOSSIBLE and even when we thought we did, it was all wrong.

From north to south, this is the order of the locations:

Azul (most north)

Sapphire

Dreams (5 minute walk south of Sapphire)

Ceiba (8 minute cab on small roads south of Sapphire)

Puerto Morelos Town

Jade (pretty far south, about 5 minutes drive south of the town)

Hope that helps!

Hello,

I know it's several months after your wedding (Congratulations by the way) but just wanted to see if you can provide an overall choice as to which resort you would choose for just a vacation for both myself and my fiance (25 years old).  We are deciding between the Now Sapphire and Now Jade.  I had done a lot of research as to which one is better as we were quoted the same price for both resorts.  I thought your reviews were very helpful however maybe you can tell me which was nicer.  I know you mentioend they were doing some renovations which I'm sure are complete now.  We are not big party people so clubs and nightly entertainment don't matter that much.  I am just interested in the cleanliness/overall appearance of the resort/rooms, the service (do they have a waitstaff on the beach bringing drinks?), was the resort easy to get around? (We have been to some resorts where you had to walk miles or take a shuttel just to get to the lobby and did not really like that), and the food (are you able to drink the water there?  Is the food good).  Okay well I think that's everything I wanted to ask.  I would greatly appreciate it if you got back to me.

All the best,

Christina

Still about 5 months away from the wedding but thank you! We're excited :)

It's not an easy choice b/t Sapphire and Jade. I wish it was...Jade is definitely newer and nicer in a lot of ways and I liked the pool set up better. But it felt less like Mexico and I loved the more authentic feel of Sapphire. I liked the staff better at Sapphire too. We had an ocean front room at Sapphire which was awesome! The interior of the room wasn't as nice (and new) as Jade though. I didn't eat enough at Sapphire to be able to compare to Jade. I don't think you can drink water at either??? Also, when we were at Jade, the resort was oversold so it felt super crowded, which I wasn't thrilled with. Also, I got eaten alive by mosquitos but a tropical storm had passed, so it might've been weather more than hotel? But it is built on a swamp (and got stinky after the storm) so maybe....Sorry I can't be more definite, but if I were to go back, I'd stay at Sapphire. Good luck!!

I loved your information. We were stuck between Azul Sensatori and Now Sapphire. We have booked 06/23/12 for Now Sapphire. We reserved the tequila terrace for the reception. You commented about the terrace attaching to the buffet restaurant. Did you get an answer about weather or not it would be in use during a reception? Also, in your picutres on #36 (i think) it showed some patio furniture on the terrace. Was that outdoor seating for the buffet? Do they use that seating while receptions are going on?

Hi Sabrina, TA Wendy here.. Both Now Jade and Dreams Riviera Cancun are AM Resorts, so your amenities will be the same generous offer.. you begin to accrue comp nights and upgrades with your 6th group room... so those would be the same. I personally love the Dreams Riviera Cancun Gazebo.. it looks kind of Tahatian, very different and pretty. Prices between the two normally would have Now Jade coming in just a little lower, and I do love the jewel tone colors throughout the property.. so pretty.

Tough choice as both are very nice properties. If you would like to correspond with me further and give me your dates and how many guests you are expecting, I would be glad to get group pricing for you. Just let me know, and you can reach me directly at wendy@wrighttravelagency.com.

Best regards,

TA Wendy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
