Hi fellow brides!!  So much information here it can definitely be overwhelming. My fiance and I got engaged on 10-10-10.

Still researching information but leaning towards Dreams. Either Riviera Cancun or La Romana.

All the reviews have been really helpful. I have to plan the wedding during the school schedule so it'll either be Spring/Summer of 2012. 2011 seemed so close and we want to enjoy the engagement. =)

Would love to hear any recommendations that anyone has. Going to try and do a site visit once the holidays are over.

Thank you all for the great posts!

Thank you! I like that Dreams is family friendly and also AI. Reading all the reviews has been great. I've been to Iberostar in Riviera Maya and the Riu in Aruba where we had a bad experience. Right now it's just researching and making lists of which hotels we want to see when we go down. Do you have pictures from your visit? How was the food? I would love the have my date booked atleast a year in advance so I can send out the save the dates.

We had a plunge pool and we loved it!! It was slightly warmer than the big pool and it was nice and quiet after a long day or excursions.

Everything about the hotel was great. The food was amazing. My favorite restaurant was the Bordeaux, I am very familiar with authentic french cuisine and they pull it off very well. The restaurant I was most disappointed with was Himitsu. We eat a lot of sushi, chines and Japanese and we were really disappointed in the quality. If you like crab make sure you get the crab won tons at Oceana or Seaside Grill. They make them fresh everyday and I'm sure I ate 30 in a week. If I had my wedding at this resort this is one thing I would have to include. Overall the food was amazing.

One suggestion I have is that if you have more than 10 people that will be going or even a smaller group I would suggest maybe private transportation if you want to save time. Every time we did an excursion we were the first on the bus and the last off. We were on the bus a minimum of and hour to a max of 2 hours each way. One day we had a total of 3 hours on the bus and it could have been a little over an hour if it was private. I would rather pay a little more to save my precious vacation time.

I have so many to things to say about the resort but I can't think right now. Let me know if you they any questions.

Oh, make sure you bring conditioner if you normally use hotel shampoo, they don't give any...soooo weird!

I am making a list too and it is so hard to decide. Let me know what you think of other resorts that you see. I think that I have looked at every other resort but nothing has compared to this one in the same price range, someone feel free to prove me wrong. I want the best deal!

you know you can use the bdw travel agents.  they created this site and apparently, know everything there is to know about all of these hotels.  EVERYONE who uses them raves about them endlessly.  and best of all... free to you!!  i plan to use them once he actually asks me to marry him.  We're making plans and a budget, etc.. but still waiting for that ring, lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
