Moon Palace - after your wedding

Recommended Posts

I am getting married at the Moon Palace in March.  We are having our dinner at one of their restaurants. We aren't having a private function...dinner or dance.  I'm wondering what other people have done for entertainment after dinner that wouldn't cost us extra.  Any creative ideas out there?

Great question ...I am getting married there in Jan. 2011 and plan to do the same thing as Shelby. I hope that you ladies can offer great tips of best bars/ lounge to go to with our guests for after dinner cocktails or on-site club or lounge that you could recommend that would be helpful.

I think the lobby bar at Sunrise is the biggest. We're having a private reception but plan on heading to Andromeda, the on site disco, afterwards.  If you have one of the presidential suites, there's enough room to have some people there too, for something more intimate. It has a full size living room and dining room so you could probably have about 15-20 people no problem.

I would try and choose a bar that not a lot of people would go to.  Maybe the Rooftop at the Golf Club?  I know the lobby bars were usually pretty full and not very intimate. The swing bar was usually empty in the evenings when we were there. The Disco doesn't not open until 10 so you may have a wait depending on the time of your wedding.  Otherwise there are nightly shows but some aren't very good...

This is a great question. I'm also planning a wedding at Moon Palace in 2012.

I'm assuming if I use the "dinner reservation for up to 35 guests" that comes with the wedding package means I won't get to play a slideshow or anything like that or hire entertainment.  I don't know if I will get to choose the restaurant and I'm also assuming that the restaurants already have their own music playing?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
