DO NOT USE: Julieta Wedding Florist

Recommended Posts

Hello shelbs97.

thanks for sharing this information and my words. Is very important that our brides know how honest we are sending some pictures are not ours, but in this case, different from the other florist, we are able to deliver the same arrangement we are offering.

The most important is that the bride can visualize how your decor will look, how your bouquet will be tied, sometimes they don´t know name of flowers, colors, or even the type of arrangement they would like to use in your so special day. Unfortunaltelly we can´t take pics everything we do, or from everything we would like to offer...

That´s why we are here to make your dreams came true smile159.gif. That´s what we have done very successifully here in Cancun and Riviera Maya.

In case you need any references of brides, please let me know and I will be more than happy to send some names.

Thanks a lot and happy holidays!!

The response was this - No, sometime we can´t take photos from our set ups, but sometime the photographers send us pictures from our events. Almost all of the pictures included in our presentation and price list are ours and the others are from our suppliers or sent by other brides.

This concerns me!!!  I only asked the question because they have a picture of a cake that I printed off theknot.com MONTHS ago!  It's the exact picture.  So now I'm not sure WHAT to do.  I can't really find any reviews of great decor companies!

I think it is one thing to use other pictures off the internet to get ideas and share what you want with a vendor. I feel it is wrong to post them on your website claiming that it is your own work. This really bothers me alot. I think it is illegal and ciolates copyright laws to do that.

I think is important for all the brides in the US to know that down here it is a "jungle" in terms of vendors. What I mean is that any person doing a center piece for her sister wedding "becomes" a wedding planner....of course they don't have the knowledge and capacity to deal with real situation and also that is why they give out ridiculos low prices. Also it is very different beeing a florist and  wedding planner.

This has affected profesionals like us who always "seem" more expensive...well if someone takes our pictures and make a bad copy of it with bad material and less details it is easy to lower the prices....and of course use the picture of others. This trend is what brought hotels to put the famous "outside vendor fee" - this was to avoid having ...in extrem terms....the wife of the waiter be in charge of centerpiece for example.....the hotel were then hold responsable of a bad service.

It is a shame because now hotels have taken advantage of this and saw a source of $$$$ for them.

Wedding business has been growing so fast down here that everyone wants a piece of it but without taking care of the profesionalism

I'm really sorry that some of you have had bad experiences.  I did use Julieta for our flowers for the ceremony and reception at Dreams Tulum so I can't comment on anything other than flowers but I was very happy with all our flower arrangements.  I was planning to post a preliminary review before I received photos from my photographer but am truly surprised (and sorry) with the negative reviews.

I made a last minute decision to hire an outside florist instead of using the resort because I wanted something different and frankly better response time and better pricing.  I traded Skype sessions, emails and photos with Julieta to ensure we were on the same page and she sent me samples of what she made (they were not photos from knots, marthastewart, .com, etc - you're right, some of the photos on her site are from those sites but I guess it didn't really bother me - I just figured she could do those as well...)

I'm posting photos of what I wanted and photos of samples that Julieta sent me as confirmation based on my budget.  My colors were white and pink so they were not as hot pink for the actual day.  My centerpieces were true to the samples that Julieta sent - I will post a more detailed review on the ceremony and reception flowers once I receive pictures from my wedding photographer.

I'd be happy to answer any questions.

I´m happy to read your positive  post and I´m looking forward to reading your review about her, as she will be doing my wedding! The centerpieces in your pictures look beautiful!

Jana - The first photo with the ocean in the background was what I sent Julieta as inspiration. The second photo with the empty candle holder was a sample Julieta had put together and sent to me to confirm.

What I received on my wedding day looked exactly like the sample Julieta sent me except the color of the flowers were slightly paler and not as "hot" pink as it is on the photos and there were candles in the crystal/glass candle holders.  I'm sorry I don't have photos yet to post but I was very happy with the centerpieces that Julieta put together and am still receiving compliments as to how great the centerpieces looked.

Well I am glad to hear you had a good experience with her. I just felt really bad for the bride on here that posted pics of what was done by Julieta. The Gazebo Decor was horrific and the dance floor looked like an airplane runway!

Can't wait to see your pictures from your photographer. Thanks for sharing your good experience with us.

Jana - I think it also really helped that we had a meeting with Julieta before the wedding at our venues so that she can get a sense of the atmosphere and space.  I know it helped me relax to hear how Julieta was planning to place the flower arrangements and pews - just to make sure we had the same vision.  I would definitely suggest this to other brides!

Ouvrm,

You did have beautiful centerpieces!  I am so happy it worked out for you.  Perhaps my mistake was using her for more than just flowers (though looking at just the flowers, she still did a horrific job for my wedding).

I also had a meeting with her at my venue before the wedding, and she showed up with a man who she called her "setup engineer" who I understood was taking measurements to plan for the final execution.  I was impressed...I mean, he seemed professional.  Who knows where she found him, no engineer would have ever done such a crappy job...I mean, look through my pics!

I'm just saying...be weary.  I also got PMd from 3 other brides with similar experiences who didn't feel comfortable posting about them on a public forum.  One bride had her BM bouquets done, half of which fell apart before even reaching the ceremony site.  I know it takes a lot to put yourself out there and post your pics with your username, and if you're one of those brides that PM'd, I urge you to share your story for the benefit of others.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
