WOW... that is a lot of unwanted stress leading into the wedding.  The travel part has been the most stressful part for me so far, but I can't image the resort changing dates on the group.

Last year's group's dates were changed by 4 days thus altering their entire vacation and almost jeopardizing the wedding!!!

So make sure you do your research!!!!!

Good Luck!

We just want our guests to come and celebrate this day with us and now they are so excited we switched it to Punta Cana.

This is what happened to us too, my bridesmaid is from mexico and she told us she wouldn't go because her family lives in Cancun and was telling her that people are getting murdered on resorts, like nice ones as some sort of warning to tourists and that their g'vmnt is hiding it so as to not loose the tourism money!! I don't know if its true or not but she wasn't the only one who refused Mexico. Its too bad too because we just LOVED Riviera Maya!

My family is also giving me crap for choosing Mexico.. Even though they have never been.. My fiance and I love Mexico and have always felt safe when we travel there..

Its common sense that you use good judgment wherever you go.. foreign country or not!

I for one cannot wait for 2011 to pass:)

I hear ya on that one!!!! Cannot wait until 2012!!!!! It's true you have to use good judgement and common-sense for that matter. You don't have to be in Mexico for something "bad" to happen. We cannot wait to go back to Mexico!!!!

I am excited about sending out my save the dates in which I am doing the save the date boarding pass wedding invites. Good luck to you and happy planning.  So excited for you welcome.gif

Hi 2012 brides!! We are getting married in 3 weeks at Now Jade in the Mayan Riviera!! Been planning this for almost a year now and can't believe we are so close to departure! :)

My FI and I both have never been to Mexico before and for several of our guests, it will be their first time at an all-inclusive resort. Everyone is super excited. When we first announced we are having a destination wedding and we chose Mexico, there was some backlash from the parents but now our guests are booked and starting to pack for the trip :)

Will post a full review of this resort when we get back. Happy planning everyone - it is going to be great year! woot.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
