Hello Karisma Brides,

We have scheduled our Fall 2012 Wedding Webinar for Karisma Resorts for October 6, 2012 @ 6:00pm PST.

Gilberto Machain, an Inside Sale Associate and former Wedding Coordinator, will be a panelist and will give a presentation as well as be on hand for a Q & A session.

I will also be a panelist to answer your travel questions about rates, group blocks vs. individual packages, etc.

This is a great opportunity for current Karisma brides and grooms or those considering the venues for the wedding location to get your questions answered.

Hope to see you guys there!

So far, i'm extremely impressed. The wedding coordinators are so hands on and extremely helpful and accommodating - a much different experience than the Riviera. One thing you may not know is all the restaurants are al a carte - which means no buffets! I will post a review and pics when we get back.

Helo....

I am in the process of booking my wedding for Dec. 2nd.....leaving Nov 28 also....so we might cross paths :)

...we have 4 kids between us and I am so excited for them to have this experience with us!

I have been to El Dorado Royal and it was Amazing....I am hoping the FIVES is too.

Another Azul Fives Bride to be here!!

We are getting married in February 2013-- cannot wait!!

We are having the ceremony on the beach followed by the Mexican fiesta cocktail party and then dinner at the flavors restaurant

Has anyone experienced the Mexican fiesta with donkey?

Also, Does anyone know if we are allowed to decorate the tables at the restaurant?

Cheers!!

BajaBride - I got married in May of 2012 at Azul Fives and it was perfect! The cost varies greatly based upon your upgrades. You can keep it very minimal, or go extremely lavishly....or somewhere in the middle. I think our basic package was around $1500, but we hosted a private rehearsal dinner, private cocktail hour, and private reception for 60 guests, so our cost was much higher than the basic package. Good luck planning!

Quackdoc - We talked about doing the Mexican Donkey, but decided against it because we were already over budget..I bet it will be a blast! I'm not sure about decorations on the tables at Flavours, but I would guess that you would be allowed if you are the only ones in the restaurant that night.  Just ask the wedding planners before you pack a bunch of decorations in your suitcase. :-)

Hi adilev,

I was married at Azul Fives on August 4 of this year. We had about 50 guests and everything was perfect!

Wedding Coordinators: The crew was fantastic! Arturo was our onsite coordinator and Andres and Odette were our planners from Lomas Travel. The meeting with the wedding coordinator and crew before the wedding was very organized. On the day of the wedding, Andres and Arturo were awesome: they constantly updated me on what was going on and on what was about to happen.

Ceremony: On the day of the wedding, it rained a couple of times in the morning and afternoon so it seemed like we wouldnâ€t be able to have a beach ceremony. The hotel has a backup location for ceremonies in case it rains, but fortunately,  the sky cleared up in time for our ceremony and we were able to have it on the beach after all. For our photographer, we chose Caribe Photo. The pictures of our ceremony and with our guests (after the ceremony) were beautiful!

Cocktail Hour: Our cocktail hour was in the garden and for hors dâ€oeuvres we ordered the Mexican Fiesta Cocktail, breaded shrimp tacos, and mahi mahi tacos. Since my hubby and I were taking pictures during most of the cocktail hour, I was able to try only the breaded shrimp and mahi mahi tacos, both of which were delicious! Our guests enjoyed the mariachi band and raved about the mahi mahi tacos!

Reception: We decided to have our reception inside the banquet hall, since it was air-conditioned. I bought vases and flowers from downtown Playa del Carmen and the wedding coordinators gladly set them up. Since we assigned seating, we also brought our own table name placards and stands, which the team set up as well.

Food: We ordered the Family Style Dinner. For the most part, everything that I tried was very good…especially the fruit tartlet and chocolate cake for dessert! There was so much food and they came in such big portions that we (including our guests) werenâ€t even able to try all of the main courses. Our guests said that the food was really good as well.

Cake: We ordered the white cake and it was very moist and delicious!

Photo Booth: The photo booth through Lomas isnâ€t a booth, but itâ€s actually a backdrop so that we were able to fit a bunch of people in each picture. There were a lot of fun props and a good variety, which made for some funny pictures. The staff was very friendly so we highly recommend them!

DJ/MC: We went with the DJ thatâ€s available through Lomas. We provided so many songs that I donâ€t think they had enough time to play them all, but the mixing was good.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
