Ginnigirl,

You have nothing to worry about. Everything will be absolutely AMAZING!!!!! The onsite wedding coordinators are amazing Elena and i forget the other ones name but they are both sweet as sugar. I actually never purchased the centerpieces. With the food on the table there is actual not much room for one. We did the family style buffet on the beach and everything was amazing. We only had 33 guest, i do recommend the dancefloor if your going to be on the beach. We hired DJ Mannia but could have done just fine with an IPOD. The people at this resort really cater to you and make you feel really special. We paid for the one bedroom suite, upon checking in, they upgraded us for free to the suite with the private patio deck we felt like superstars we had an additional hot tub on our roof along with lounge chairs and beach beds plus our own barbecue grill. Also the cab ride to 5th street to go shopping is only about 15 minutes and cost $12.

YAY!  I am soooo glad I found an Azul Fives post.  Everyone seems to get married at Sensatori...I wonder why that is????  Anyhow, I JUST found out my sister is pregnant, so I had to switch from an adults only to a family friendly resort...which isn't ideal, but I will work with it as long as there aren't hoards of children running amuck.  Anyhow, I am leaning toward Azul Fives...but there is noooooo info on it! :(

If you guys can give me any advice, I am all ears.  I am interested in both info on the resort and wedding details.  I just want everyone, including my self to have a stress free time and to have loads of fun!

The reason there is not much info around is that the Fives offically opened as a resort in November 2010. Before that it was only a timeshare property. We had originally planned to get married at the Fives, but they could not promise it would be open in time for our January 2011 wedding.

You will find lots of useful info on the Sensatori forum, because it is the same company and the wedding coordinators/costs are all the same. Just the locations and restaurants are different!

Good luck with your wedding plans!

I just got back from visiting Azul Fives and I am now waiting on confirmation of my date, June 9, 2012. It is such a beautiful resort and all of the staff was so incredibly nice. I am so excited about this. Hopefully there will be a few more brides here so we can share some ideas!

Hey!  I just replied to your PM.... sorry it took me so long!  I sent my phone number, because I honestly haven't had enough time even write the review yet!! :)  Azul Fives was beautiful, the staff was FAB - Estephanie and Itzel the onsite wedding coordinators were amazing!  The food and drinks were wonderful!!

You can also join Azul Fives, Karisma and Azul Hotels on Facebook - many times people post weddings, questions and they post sales/discounts and contests.  I found that and the Azul Sensatori forum on here to be SO HELPFUL!  I don't think I could have done it without this, actually, I know I couldn't have!!!!

I would say overall:

  • the best things were - oversized condo-size rooms, the staff, the food, the pools.... I was actually sick most of the time, and the staff totally babied me... made and brought special food to my room, etc.
  • not-so-best things were - no oceanview rooms (but you could see the ocean from the rooftop space, if you have a penthouse, which they upgraded us too) and because the resort was at very low capacitiy, the nightlife wasn't that exciting (but we still had fun!!), the beachfront for Azul is small, and you can't really swim (but you can walk down the beach to swim, the pools are so great, you don't really want too!)

Sometime, I will finally do a review, but in the meantime, it is definately a beautiful place for a wedding!!

Good luck!

  • 1 month later...

hi! I'm an Azul Fives bride too =)  April 27,2012!!  We love Playa del Carmen and Riviera Maya and are so excited to return.  We have decided not to do a site visit because we really want a 'surprise' experience.  I hope that this it's a good surprise that awaits hahaha

Also trying to get some ideas and reviews about things like DJ, Makeup Artists, Photog, Decor, etc... am a little confused with making selections on Lomas but we have a planner and on-site coordinator that have been working with us and we love them =)

Congratulations to you!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
