Hello,

I'm waiting for confirmation from the resort on our wedding date, but due to two other recent engagements in the family I want to make sure I get the STDs out as quickly as possible once confirmed. I sent an email out a couple months ago to immediate family and close friends to let them know location, tentative date and cost (I only had '07 rates, but wedding will be Nov. '0cool.gif. I plan on inviting extended family as well, but wanted input on location and price range from those closest. Since the extended family was not included in the email, I'm not sure what our guest count will actually be so I was wondering if I should include RSVP cards with the STDs? I realize it might be tentative since I'm sending them out pretty early and they may change their mind depending on what the '08 prices end up being. Thoughts? Also, how soon before the wedding should invitations be sent?

My wedding is next May. I sent out my STDs this June. I didn't have an RSVP card, but I did put a "deadline" to contact the TA to reserve the "group rate". The date was August 15 and I got a really great response b/c people didn't want to end up paying more than they had to. I am still up in the air about when to send invitations.

We sent STDs and asked guests to rsvp to our website if they planned on going. We gave them about 3 months to make a decision on that. People that did that were sent formal invitations in April and the wedding was in June. People that did not rsvp on the website or talk to us personally did not get a formal invite.

What about a more informal RSVP? I've asked people to let me know if they are considering going, not if they are going. But, I'm doing it informally through the website, email, of phone. I think it's hard for people to answer so far in advance. I'm not doing a room block, so I don't need an RSVP now, but it's nice to know.

I always laugh when an 8 & a ) turns into a cool.gif

we did that. I sent a response postcard with our STD's and so far have had so many responses (way more than expected). We also gave them our website and allowed guests to respond there.

Our wedding is in July 08 but we mailed them out in April and asked for a preliminary resopnse by July 4 of this year.

Hint- if are going to indicate # of guests ______ make sure to fill it in your self! I'm learning the hard way! (we are at about 190, yikes!)

I'm using the Passport template for my invitations (I think). For the RSVP card, is it regular stamp postage?

Yup! I sent these out before the postage increase but the request date was for after so I had to add the extra 2cents stamp.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
