Blubbering Bride

Recommended Posts

I got butterflies in my stomach this morning when I realized we're now just 2 months away.. seems amazing.

But I need some advice.. Are there any other blubbering brides out there? I cry at commercial for pete's sake.. and I'm worried on my wedding day I'm going to be a blubbering idiot! Not to mention it will ruin my makeup, I don't want it to be the focus of my ceremony. Anyone have any suggestions? Or at least tips on how you handled your emotions on your wedding day?

I've been like that since we got engaged. i cry at commercials, oprah, songs, when i tell stories, etc. Not major crying, but i get choked up. I tried to tell my mom about the hand ceremony & i cried each time I started to talk about it. I can't imagine I'd be able to actually get through it. I also wanted to write our own vows, but I'm starting to think I won't be able to get the words out. Maybe I can record myself & lipsync :)

Wow! I thought it was just me.. I get emotional about everything.. funny how stress/feels affect everything!

My problem is when I cry I get red and blotchy and it doesn't go away. I always envied those girls that could be crying in the girls bathroom and half an hour later they were just as pretty as always... lol not me, I look like a wreck, puffy face and all!

You never know how you're going to feel until up to that moment. I'm hoping I'm calm and tears free!

Me too! What songs are you girls using for that? I've always loved the Father Daughter song by Paul Simon and it's even kind of fast so I thought that would help but it doesn't I still bawl when I hear it.

I love that paul simon song. I hadn't heard it until recently I was on hold with sprint & it was playing. My dad has health issues due to his weight & can't dance right now. Instead he is recording a song for us that we are going to play sometime during the ceremony. It's called "She wear's my ring" by ray price. My dad loves ray price.

We aren't having a dance. If we did, I was going to play the song while I danced with my FI. I'd have my dad sing it, but he is a cryer too!

I don't think it's just the stress that brings out the tears. I think it's other emotions. Excitement, happiness, love..and some stress.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
