How Soon Did Guests Book Flights/Hotel to Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

We are getting married on July 19, 2011 and we just booked a few weeks ago - I'm not sure about some of our guests since people are coming from all over the place and a lot are using their own travel agents.  We booked sooner than I had planned because there are less flights from Canada and didn't want to have the price jump due to low availability.  I know some guests are waiting to book, which is stressing me out a little, but I posted a notice on our website as well that it is recommended to book travel within the next month or so in order to avoid everything booking up and having to pay a ridiculous price.

My wedding is is November 2011.

We secured a group rate as well for our guests.  Right now we have 14 people confirmed (you have to guarantee 10 people within so many days of getting the group rate price) and then my WC needs a guest list 3 months before our wedding date - so August.

So I'm planning on sending my invitations out in May and asking for an RSVP of July something...

Everyone that wants to book with our group rate has to book by September in any case anyways.

Plus we are doing a private reception that I paid for a specific amount of people which is the case for our ceremony as well - you have to pay x number of dollars for every person over the amount I paid for.  So I want to avoid last minute bookings as well and being surprised with a new number of people - so as long as they RSVP by July then they can book however they want :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
