How much to spend on BM's gifts?

Recommended Posts

Donie we're also doing the same for our bridal party. Purchasing the girls dresses, and purchasing the gms attire. I'll let the girls pay for their hair etc bc I'm pretty sure there'll be other things that we may pitch in and pay for them.

For the boys we bought their pants, shirts, and sandals for the wedding and fiance is paying for them all to go deep sea fishing together the day before the wedding.

I'm thinking of keeping it simple and finding some nice hawaii themed tank tops for all us girls to where. That way they can use them as beach where or as pjs.......I suspect I'll be buying there accessories/shoes or paying for the make up and hair, so it'll balance out there.

something to start thinking about already! I still have a year.  I'm not entirely sure how many bridesmaids I'll have (I know one potential is a teacher, so she won't be coming if she has a job next year).

I also don't really like the word "bridesmaid".  I'm trying to think of a better word for them!

I have 6 BM's. I bought their dresses and I'm going to get them starfish necklaces. I also ordered them make-up bags with their initial on it. We're doing OOT bags for our guests so they will get one of those as well. Some of them aren't getting their hair done because it's naturally curly and has style to it, so I'm not paying for their hair. They get a 20% discount for the spa with their vacation package anyway so I'm not going to worry about it.

We're going to buy the GM suits and shirts. I would like to get them something else though....I like the idea of my FI planning an excursion for them. Keep the ideas coming! haha

i bought my bridesmaids canvas tote bags with their names embroidered, beach towels, flip flops (reefs for my maid of honor and matron of honor and old navy for the rest), wet bikini bags, starfish picture frames and i got them each little dainty heart necklaces with the letter of their first name stamped on it from etsy.  i think i am finished with their gifts unless i see something else i have to have! haha...

Yeah I dont think there are specific guidelines. I want to give them something they will remember and wont end up in a drawer somewhere so my FI and I are going to pay for all of our wedding party to do an excursion as their gift. Like go snorkelling or something when we are in Mexico, we will invite the other people coming to our wedding, but we will be treating it as a special occassion for everyone that hepled us out so much in leading up to this day.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
