Hi girls!

I just finished my passport invitations, and I have to say that I'm happy with how they came out, but holy moly were they a lot of work. Like... hours, and hours and hours. It took quite a bit of time pritning everything, as getting it to line up right and print right, and figuring out how to print well on the shimmery paper, was not an easy task for me. I think if I had to do it again I'd see if i could have them printed at Staples or somewhere like that so I didn't have to fuss with that. I think a lot of it is because our numbers kept going up as far as who to invite, so I ended up having to make 76 of them... and I had only bought enough stuff to do 50 (and I thought that was overkill!!). I had ordered the paper from paperandmore.com as advised by Teira, and so I had to get some locally, which was nearly impossible, to finish the rest. I ended up finding what I needed at Joannes... They had pearl cardstock I used for the white pages that was a PAIN to print on (my printer couldn't flip it to print on the back), and pink scrapbook paper for the covers. I bought a DIY wedding invite kit there too that had something similar (but not as nice) to the pear inner envelopes, and ended up sending out some of them with plain white envelopes as the outer envleopes. (It is IMPOSSIBLE to find anyone selling pretty envelopes of any type locally... so dissapointing.)

The paper that Teira reccommended was so pretty I was thrilled, and it was fine to print on, so it was a pain that I ran out!

Jszy10 had also done something similar, (http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/63119/my-diy-passport-invites) and I took bits from hers as well.. especially the response card. I ordered mine from from Staples (first did the in-store printing, which was terrible, then had them mailed to me the regular way.)

My guests just started getting them today, but so far I've gotten quite a few texts saying how much people like them and how excited they are! (There is literally everything they need to know in there... Most of the information came from a "Save the date" packet that my travel agent (Sarah at Beach Bum Vacations) put together for me. I guess i didn't take pics of all the pages, though!)

Hope these help you with planning if you are deciding to do them!! :) Good luck with yours!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
