Well I just booked our trip and started planning our wedding. Yes I barely have 1 month 1/2 til our wedding and I'm just planning everything. The good thing is that since it will be just us I don't have much to do but find a dress. We are doing the free wedding and booked a photo shoot with briliant by tropical imaging. I think they do some amazing photos and so I don't plan to use the resort photographers. Although I would like at least one photo of us getting married. Since we have no guests we plan to maybe invite or ask a guest of the resort for 20 minutes of their time to take a photo. Is this silly? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks much.

Natalie

I am sure you will find even someone from the staff help out. They are very helpful. I went there in 2009 for a wedding and going for mine next year...

We brought our own cake topper, and a few things to decorate but mainly just had them put our favors on the few tables and the natural surroundings were just beautiful! We didn't buy anything extra for the ceremony besides the ring bearer pillow...we did do the sand ceremony. Which I loved! Honestly everything was so simple because you don't need to overdo anything there...the natural surroundings are sooooo beautiful! We didn't have a DJ, we actually rented the iPod dock and had our own playlist. So we just kinda knew which songs where going to be when and went with it. We only had 18 total people including us so we didn't do the whole formal reception thing. As for the dinner, she set up the reservations and then the restaurant took care of us from there. They had two long tables set up for us and we had one server just for us. He was very attentive. The only thing I would change is ...I would have had my wedding earlier so we could have more time for pictures and I would have liked more time before our dinner. Other than that everything was perfect!

Thanks so much for ur thoughts n help! I am thinking of doing the real touch flowers! Did u bring or buy anything for decor for the cocktail reception? Or the ceremony? Im debating if i want or need to! I want it to look pretty n have no idea how its gonna look!! Did they do the introducing of the dances n stuff? Or did u have a dj? And did your wedding lady set up the dinner after? Thanks again :)

Hi Brooke! I actually handed out some of my welcome bags at a group breakfast the morning after we arrived and then the last few people that trickled in we actually met them at their rooms and gave them the bags.

They give you 2 separate options for sit down dinners.  There is a 2 hour sit down reception that is $50/pp and then there is a 3 hour sit down reception for $75/pp.  I actually chose the 2 hour reception and I am going to have a 1 hour free cocktail reception since I have enough rooms booked in my group.  This way it will be 3 hours altogether and I only have to pay $50/pp.  At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to do a private reception since it is an all inclusive resort BUT my mother talked me into it.  It will be nice to have the DJ and the privacy that we wouldn't be able to get at a restaurant.  But I'm sure either way, no matter what anyone chooses, is gorgeous.  My wedding is on May 8, 2013 and I cannot wait!!!!  Less than 4 months to go.  Everything is really starting to come together.. Hey question for you ladies out there that did Welcome Bags at Beaches T&C, how did you hand them out?  Did you do it yourself or have the resort put them in your guests room?  I'm just trying to get different ideas here.  I'm thinking that I might hand them out to everyone at the Rehearsal dinner but I'm not sure yet... Hello to all the new brides on here.  I just changed my travel dates with my new wedding date.  We were supposed to get married this October 13, but we postponed till October 13,2014. I still wanted to keep our original anniversary date, so the only option was to wait another year.  It's a very good thing, but sadly now we have to wait even longer.  Good news...I'm pregnant!  Baby is due late June.

So now we are getting married on October 13, 2014 at 4pm.  I still want my beach ceremony, and now I can get closer to sunset for the reception.  At least I have lots of time to figure out what I'm doing- formal private dinner vs cocktail+ restaurant.

I did hear that Ileana with Tropical Imaging went solo and left the company.  I'm trying to get in contact with her about her rates as I would still love to try and book her.

Happy planning everyone.

So I forget who asked, or when, but I looked through my notes and found some info that I received from Roxi during our last conversation in December.  Note that we have quite a few people attending our wedding so it makes sense to go with the sit down reception option. Right now we have 75 people attending, it is a mix of people staying on the resort and off the resort.

If you have guests attending the wedding that aren't staying at the resort, then the pricing is as follows:

$75/person resort entry fee on day of wedding (same price for children and adults)

$75/adult reception sit-down dinner

$37/50/child reception sit-down dinner

Sit Down Reception

$60/adult for 2 hour dinner

$30/child for 2 hour dinner

1 Hour Cocktail Reception is included in my package due to the amount of rooms booked directly at Beaches

Includes sparkling wine, soda, water, and fruit punch/juices

Hot and Cold hors d'oeuvres (hope I spelled that correctly)

Sit Down Dinner - Bride and Groom choose

1 appetizer

1 soup or salad course

2 entrees for guests to choose from

1 dessert (not including the wedding cake)

*You also have the option to include vegeatrian dishes and special meals should anyone be vegetarian or have food allergies. They allow exceptions for particular people's meals and you must let them know in advance.

That's all I have at the moment, but I hope it helps when you are trying to figure out budgeting issues! If you have any questions, I will try to answer them as best I can.

We are going with the Seaside Serenade theme and are paying the extra to carry over the theme on all of the tables for the reception. It is much less of a burden for me to do this than to stress about lugging down reception decor and all of the crazy details that I want to/would probably stress over. I didn't want to do the suitcase fight, considering the OOT bags are getting 2 suitcases of their own to go down!

That is great information Kisha.  I was told that the resort fee for guests not staying at Beaches was a lot more than that. I just went back to the information that my TA sent me and this is the amount he has for Beaches.

Day passes are:

10am – 6 pm $200 per adult, $130 per child.

6 pm – 11 pm $220 per adult, $130 per child.

I wonder if the information has changed as the rates I have were from the summer.

Thanks for the info. I am tinking about the 3 hours sit down dinner. But not sure yet! Will it cost a lot to have the Seaside serenade for all the group? I am thinking about te Island Paradise theme! Not sure yet. Do you choose your menu on site?

My cousin and his wife brought all the weddings decorations from Canada and yes it was a burden that I truely don't want to go through.

thanks again for the info.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
