Beaches ~ Turks & Caicos Roll Call!

Recommended Posts

Ladies we are BACK!!! I am going to write a whole review for all of you, and please feel free to ask any questions, but all I have to say is DO NOT WORRY ABOUT A THING! Everything about our day was AMAZING AND PERFECT! The wedding coordinators at Beaches are more than willing to go above and beyond to make sure you are happy and your guests are happy. We had Comaneci (pronounced Comanesh) and Patricia was constantly floating around us helping out as well. Two amazing women! One thing both my husband and I decided, a week is long enough to be there....we went for 11 days and were ready to come home. Turks is GORGEOUS and the weather was perfect, but we think a week would have been sufficient for our trip.

I'll post my review up and the link soon.

Here's a sneak peak of pics...72844_4026912110339_1207631364_33756809_426123995_n.jpg525793_4016937260974_1207631364_33751410_1790083910_n.jpg

Jess~ Congrats!!!   You look gorgeous and your dress is stunning.  Your review made me teary!  Thanks for the review, it had a lot of great info in it.

I got some news today from family.  Some of my FI siblings are going to try and stay at Club Med.  Not really sure how far that is but I know it's on Grace Bay and in Provo.  It's an all inclusive adult only resort. They are prepared to pay their own day passes, esp since I have no idea how often they will actually come over to Beaches.  Then my mom told me that my aunt said that having an island wedding was just stupid.  I really don't understand people.  My mom said it was jealousy, but who knows.  I just hope she continues that attitude and doesn't show up to the wedding.  Some good news, I picked my bridesmaid dresses!

Amber - Don't worry about family, they are always the first ones to hurt our feelings yet be offended when we say something. Did you and/or your mom explain to the other cousins that if they stay at Beaches it would help you guys with the wedding package? I've had some folks directly ask me if it would help us to stay there and I said absolutely! They were more than willing to forgo their timeshares and stay at the resort in order to be a part of all of the festivities. I think this whole DW thing turns me into a part-time salesperson, but oh well. As long as the people you REALLY want to be there make the attempt and are there, forget about the negative ones. stupid.gif  I'm sure it is a bit of jealousy, that happens because they didn't think of doing a DW, couldn't afford one, or it wasn't an option when they got married. You'll be fine!

Thanks Kisha.  The cousins pretty much said if they stay at another resort they could afford to go.  I'm going east to visit family this summer and I'll see my aunt at the beach.  She loves the beach and the DW is a stupid idea?  I think you nailed the jealousy factor.! I do feel sales person esq when telling people what all Beaches has to offer.  I'll have my FI, my daughter and parents there and I'm focusing on that!   Thanks again for pep talk.  cheer2.gif

Amber I'm glad I could help! :D For you ladies that have been there already I have another question. Are there wash cloths in the bathrooms? I know some resorts in some countries don't have them, so I want to know so I can plan for that as well. Thanks!

Amber, first of all....thank you :) I'm glad my review might be helpful! As for your family, listen to me....we invited people that said the same thing....the people that matter and love you the most will do anything in their power to be sure they are there (unless they seriously can't afford it and they will send you emails and texts the day of the wedding :))) definitely any comment like that IS jealousy. To be honest I struggled with that with my own mother. Sad as it is. And the reason I slept in the same room as my fiancé (now hubby) the night before the wedding is because my mom and I got in a fight the night before the wedding. You can't change the way people are, but DO not let them ruin your moment and YOUR DAY. The great thing about a destination wedding is that it's all about YOU and YOUR SOON TO BE HUSBAND....everyone else is there to witness.....remember that :) You will Love Beaches, and anyone that can't afford it that stays at Club Med will still be able to enjoy your day. From what we saw, Club Med is not as updated and nice as Beaches at all, we picked up a couple from Club Med when we went horseback riding, they literally had to manually open the front gate at security there and when we went on a cruise it was very plain looking when we rode by on the boat....I didn't see inside the resort though.....oh and it's only about a 5 minute taxi ride away from Beaches. All will be fine :))) trust me!!!!! Any questions let me know!!!!! Good luck honey!!!!

Kisha, yes plenty of towels and wash cloths. They actually check on your room like 3 times a day, NO KIDDING....they clean the room, then stock the room in the afternoon and then have turn down service where they give you fresh towels as needed. Craziness!! Lol so you will be fine with washcloths :))

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
