Hi! I haven't been told about free upgrade yet, @@Linz1131. Should I ask Roxi? I think she's back Monday.

Ahhhh! Getting so close! I'm in south Florida for work this week and enjoying sun. My girlfriend from college is at Beaches this week...she's sending me pics every day! And she said she heard wifi is free in December! I hope December 1st!!!

@@tyrebride2b2013 I wanted it for the welcome dinner because the beach party is that night and the plan was to have cocktails and apps then go tot the party. Another bride was able to do it earlier in the posts so I am just going to ask again when we get there.

@@megthomson I am unable to do any work at this point lol too excited. That pic is GORGEOUS!

Apparently the upgrade doesn't come until we actually arrive and is subject to availability. I have checked and the hotel is not full so we should definitely get the upgrade. I was so excited when I heard about the free wifi! We are having our guests download The Wedding Party app so we can get pics from everyone's experience.

For future brides please note they offer a 10% discount but you have to have them add it before the final pmt. I didn't know about it and my TA didn't either (which I found frustrating) so I have two military guests that will not be getting the discount. I even tried to get some sort of credit or freebie and they refused.

Yes I have heard on the Facebook page the wife is free starting December 1st. The 10% discount can apply to military or firefighters I believe. It talks about it on their website. Also if you want to use any Sandals Select Points you have or Points from their credit card to use to get massage or anything applicable on resort then you must schedule it before or arrival or you cannot use the points and will have to just pay and have it added to your room. Don't forget to tell guests about the hold they will ask to place on credit card. It can be like $400. I had some guests it was less for. Then if they don't want ability to add charges to their room then they just let them know and they will not have to pay the hold. At least that is how it was in April.

@@mjeans08 is right. Patricia Is great. She actually recently got married a few months ago. She covered my day of wedding when my other on site coordinator had an emergency. It probably is good they don't contract with Ileana anymore because there one package option was a ridiculous price and only included digital photos. She offers better options of packages.

@@Linz1131...if you want pics of any area let me know! My friend sends me several a day. The tip she gave yesterday is consider moving rooms...the French pool is closed for renovation. I want to but my fiancé keeps saying it will be done in two weeks. I really hope so bc I'd be super mad if I hear banging and sawing all day and look at empty pool from my room. Think we should go to another section?

And I'll definitely see you at the saturday beach party! Is that the "white party" too?

  • 2 weeks later...

@@megthomson I would wait until you hear about the upgrade when you check in, they may move you anyway. Friday is the beach party, which is where we will go after our welcome dinner. They supposedly have a fire dancer and some sort of theme. I think white night is a different day, I can't remember all of the other theme nights. I will take all the photos you have! Did she take any of the carribean village?

@@Linz1131. Hi! So I ended up calling and the upgrade was to the honeymoon suite in caribbean. The reason we paid extra money and in French was to be away from 99% of our guests. We love them dearly, but really want to make sure we get to honeymoon for some time alone from them (like a "real honeymoon"!).

I will be at the beach party as a Mrs! We are getting married on the beach at 5 and our reception is 6-9!

@@megthomson Well hopefully the construction will be all done or you could move to Key West Village maybe? I think the Italian one has too many kids.

I'm so excited! The beach party will be perfect for after your wedding!

Do you have more photos of the Caribbean Village?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
